Diver dies in jewfish fight

Line apparently wraps his wrist, holds him down The identification of a
diver killed while trying to spear a jewfish over the weekend remained
unreleased at press time Tuesday, as next of kin still had not been
notified.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Coast Guard,
the 42-year-old Stock Island man was out on a Jet Ski free-diving. The
Coast Guard received a call from his friend at 9 p.m. Saturday saying he
was overdue.

not as romantic as that one show on ESPN makes it seem?? I've watched that before and thought it was probably much more dangerous than they portrayed (spearfishing).

My dad always talks about doing this while he was in the Navy stationed in Hawaii. Damn have I ever heard a thing or two about spearfishing?

But it's one of those things I will always think about once he is gone, I guess.
