Some early plays that I will write up later...

Florida -3.5 over Tennessee - The Gators and Urban are hitting on all cylinders. The Tennessee win over Cal was a good step for the program but it doesn't mean they are ready to stay with the Gators. Urban had great success in year two at BG and year two at Utah. With a veteran QB and a highly touted freshman with great ability this team is very dangerous and should roll at Rocky Top.

Michigan +7.5 over Notre Dame - take them as a road dog more than 7 any day. Hope you got it. This is the first time that the Wolverines have rolled into South Bend as an underdog since 94 and that was an outright win. I don't know if they will win this one, but I would play anything down to +4.5.

Cincinnati +30 over Ohio State - Let down. There is no chance of an upset but the 30 is a ton of points. Classic sandwich situation for the Buckeyes.

Illinois -3 over Syracuse - The Illini aren't as bad as they showed against Rutgers and the Orange got Iowa at a perfect time. Even Ron Zook can't screw this up...well on second thought..he probably can.

Michigan State +2 over Pittsburgh - Drew Stanton is the difference maker here. John L. and Dave Pornstache cancel each other out.

Miami +4.5 over Louisville - Too much talent on the Miami sideline to lose this game. The points are a gift.

Adding a team total...

Toledo over 26 - The Toledo offense is just fine and the friendly confines of the Glass Bowl are just what they need to take advantage of the fact that they are completing passes at a 72%...yes 72% clip!!

too often on the forum, everyone offers the generic 'good luck' or 'love your plays' reply. but im dead serious when i say every play on your list coincides with the way i lean on those seven. unfortunately i have to pass michigan because id be betting into a shaved line. but those 7s and 8s that were out there monday and tuesday are looking mighty nice now. have a good weekend spack.

in total agreement with you here G and Spack top to bottom on the list of plays... Minus the Michigan play... You have a great # there, but that game is so confsuing to me... The line movement has been bizzare and i cant get any feel for the game...

Best of luck.

Spackler,

I just posted a thread about the Illinois game, but wanted to see what the word is up there about this week's game. I have Illinois as my #1 pick of the day, but it is hard to bet on a bad team. They are not THAT bad are they?

G & YSG:

Thanks fellas. I think this is a nice weekend when it comes to some solid teams getting points and some others looking at low numbers to cover. As far as the Michigan/Notre Lame game goes, I had a number in mind (7) on Saturday evening already following the ND/PSU game, and when I saw 7 and 7.5 pop up on Sunday night I was pretty fired up. I really don't think that you are going to see a typical conservative Michigan approach because I think they have been saving a lot of the offensive playbook for this particular game. This approach, along with a lack of familiarity for ND with the new Michigan coordinators gives them a great advantage. However, I am hesitant to play a money line because I am not sold on Michigan's big play threats, i.e. Breaston, Arrington, and Manningham, and secondly, there are very strange things that happen in South Bend and it is tough to lay money on the line thinking that the Wolverines can beat the Pope.

Skipper,

Are they bad? Yes. Are they THAT bad? I don't think so. Are they Syracuse bad?? I really don't think so. Plus, Syracuse is not a good team outside of the dome. Even money -3 on Pinny right now.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious once again, Falcon. Post game this evening at The Cornerstone Brewery by the way.

I don't know if there is any of the Madjack's family in the Detroit area or if there are any Blue fans that will be around, but Spackler will be watching the game at Hockeytown across from Comerica Park tomorrow afternoon. Look for the guy with multiple bottles of Miller Lite in Khaki shorts and a Michigan pullover.
