Texas Am -27.5 over Army ****
Army is hurting big time. They beat kent in OT last week but if you watched the game kent self destructed.Army won 17-14.Armys problem is they have no Qb.Pevoto isn't ready yet. He's a big kid with a strong arm but has poor touch and is really to green.Looked great in 1st half 12-14 with many short passes and was 2-14 in 2nd half. They say he broke his left thumb and had back spasms in 2nd half.Maybe so but he looked so bad.Pevoto in 2 games is 26-51 no Td's and 4 ints. He's 6'5 and a big target. This was against 2 weak teams in Ark st and kent. Also Army has no backup Qb.None ,nada. If Pevoto went down they are in big trouble.
Army OL couldn't open up holes vs Kent front 4. Pass protection was avg.if Army can't pass the ball they cannot run.Rb's are all small. McMahand.Moore, etc are all midgets.Mac is listed as 5'8.He's got to be 5'5.He did gain 90 yds in 19 carries.Armys defense is avg. There rushing defense was bad.kent gained 200 yds on the ground and Ark St ran on them too.LB's and backfield are slow.Typical Army team..Very little depth
Texas Am is loaded esp vs inferior teams. They beat la-laf and Citadel by a combined score of 86-10.Throw away all the defensive ranking by AM due to there comp. They avg on off. 200 yds in rushing and passing. But its there OL that is the key today. They are solid there, all 6'5 and 6'6,300 pounds, etc. They will dominate the small Army DL and wear them down.Army has no depth there.Throw on the "legions of doom". Thats Am 2 TE and one is 6'7.Coach Fran is using them big time this yr.AM Wr's are solid esp with Schroder.McGee is the Qb and the jury is still out on him. pretty solid and has played well in 1st two games. But its the running backs....3 of them
Lane is the 270 pound RB that everyone is talking about. He scored 4 td's last week.Lewis is there top RB and has been the past few yrs.Goodson is the frosh.Fran subs these guys so there fresh. They should have no trouble today behind the massive athletic OL.Army's front 7 will pray the DB's come up for run support to help out.Because these guys will need help stopping these 3 aggies.
AM defense is athletic and quick. They now play the 4-2-5.Don't know why you need 5 db's vs Army when everyone knows they can't pass. I'm sure Fran has them moving up on every snap.AM defense will put pressure on Pevoto and Armys run will not be a threat.
Aggies should have no problem holding Army to 3 to 10 pts.Am should score 40-45 pts.Think they cover the 27 pts with ease.AM is 3-12 on astro turf and not at Kyle. This game is at the Alamodome in San Antonio.Fran is in trouble at AM. has a losing record and has Texas,OU Neb coming up. They beat there 1st two opponents by 76 pts.Army is in the same class as the other 2.
