I'm looking at this game thinking Kansas is a no brainer. What am I missing?

I'm looking for any input.

Thank you.

I agree on paper the matchup is pretty one sided, but KU had a tough loss last week, I mean heartwrenching(especially for those on KU) but then they have had an extra day or so to recover. KU is relatively inexperienced soI am not going to play to see how they react. Many times we see a decent team lose a close one and go into a tailspin. I think we call this the Michigan St Effect.

Teams playing off an OT loss are horrible against the spread the next week (i.e. Toledo after Iowa State, losing 31-10 as a 10.5 fav @ Western Michigan) South Florida, just a warning

Kansas had 5 turnovers against Toledo (in Toledo's house) and still almost came out with a victory.

South Florida barely hung with Central Florida, and while thats a heated rivalry in the making, USF should have blown them up.

I like Kansas here if they can control the ball and give less than three turnovers.

Thank you all for the input. I'll wait until Saturday morning but I think I'll go with it.

pocketaces, consider south florida defense is ranked 17th in the nation. kansas lost several defensive players..looks like a close game.

coach jim leavitt of S.F. is demanding, since joining the Big East conference the team is getting stronger each year.

if kansas plays like they did last thrusday nite, their in trouble. i lean toward S.F. for a close win.
good luck

Anyone know why the line moved from 5 to 4 or 3.5? I am on Kansas, they should have beat Toledo by 17.

teams off an OT loss at home are 34-39 ATS.
since 2001, 23-19 ATS

doesnt seem horrible to me

Thanks SDF, all they have to do is run Cornish up the gut and they win this home game comfortably. This can't be an easy trip for USF and I think Kansas covers by a TD. That QB has potential but he blew the game against Toledo.

Mangino has justifiably taken alot of heat for not pounding it @ Toledo. Meier may not play because he got his shoulder/arm "rolled up on" in a pile last Thur. Barmann has started before and is adequate, but definitely not as athletic. Either way, I think KU will be a run heavy offense on Saturday. I would check So. Fla rushing defense because that will be what this one comes down to imo. Forecast calls for rain in Lawrence Sat. night.

I have a decent-sized write up on this game in my thread for the Big 12 this weekend.

Just quickly, though... I do like KU minus the # (although I wont be bettering it). Meier is questionable... a 50/50 gametime decision. Mangino wont disclose his injury... its to his arm, though, and has effected his throwing...

GL with your play.

Rain is now out of the forecast for tomorrow night's game .... should be a hard fought contest as KU might play more conservatively with Meier questionable and coach Mangino taking some heat for to much passing last week late in the game & in OT when they obviously should have run it down Toledo's throat to win the game (a little Jayhawk bias coming out there as LW's loss hurt) .... gotta believe KU finds a way to pull out a W in what could be a defensive battle .... total only 43 1/2 though so kind of hard to take the under isn't it?? Don't have a lot of knowledge about USF and their style of play ... are they a run first or pass first kind of team??
