2006 NFL Regular season breakdown:

BIG Plays 3-0!

Medium size plays: 1-1

small size plays: 1-2

(Teasers 2-1, Sides 3-2)

No BIG Plays for this week, but one for now that should cash my ticket!

Medium size play:

Baltimore Ravens -0.5
&
Philadelphia Eagles ?pk

Ravens -0.5? ?The Ravens march into Cleveland with the Best team they?ve had since their Super Bowl win back in 2001?at 2-0 the Ravens will be facing a Browns team that has been bruised and battered?the Browns are also a team that is 0-2 and is coming off an emotional loss to their cross-state rival the Bengals last week?the Browns have a couple potential playmakers on their team in Te Kellen Winslow and Wr Braylon Edwards but the Browns have been unable to run the ball with any success and their offensive line is very average at best?this week theses Browns will be facing one of the most opportunistic and effective Defenses in football in the Ravens?need I say much more?...on the flip side the Ravens offense has been able to move the ball on the ground and through the air as the team finally has a QB that they can count on in Steve McNair?the Ravens haven?t blown away the league with any dominating stats?but?they have dominated the time of possession in their two games to the tune of 67:02 to 52:58?The Browns have won 2 straight against the Ravens at Home? but that was against a Ravens team that lacked an identity with Kyle Boller under center?plus?the the Browns are BANGED UP!...HB Droughns is Quest?Wr Juravicious is Doubt?DT Eason is Doubt?DT Roye is Doubt?LB McGinest is Quest?S Russell is Quest?Cb Baxter is Doubt and CB McCutcheon is OUT?The Browns are 6-13 ATS in division play and 5-13 ATS against winning teams?on the flip side the Ravens are 37-15 ATS in their last 52 games after allowing less than 250 tot yds in their previous game?and?15-7 ATS in Division openers.
Baltimore 20 Cleveland 10

Eagles ?pick? The Eagles are coming off of an emotional OT loss to the Giants in a game in which they led and dominated for the first 3.5 quarters?this week they will be facing a Niners team that is coming off of a minor home upset of the Rams last week and a team that is improving but is not ready pull a BIG upset at this time?the Niners dodged a bullet last week by being able to run the football against a poor Rams run defense with Frank Gore and limit Alex Smith to just 22 passes?this was a key to the Niners win because the Niners offensive line was and is banged up and QB Smith would have been a sitting duck had he been forced into obvious passing situations?this week the Niners won?t be so fortunate as they face an Eagles team that is one of the leagues BEST units against the run allowing the Texans just 70 yds in week one?the Giants to just 86 last week and if you can recall all the way back to last year they stuffed L.Tomlinson at home and held him to single digits in Philly?what this will do is force the Niners to air it out especially if they are behind which I expect?the Eagles lost DE Kearse for the season with a knee but they won?t miss a beat with DE McDougle stepping in?oh by the way they sacked Eli Manning 8 times last week!...on the flip side I expect the Eagles and Donovan McNabb to exploit a weak Niners secondary and put points on the board?the Eagles beat the Niners last year in 2005 42-3 at home?in that game Mr. McNabb threw for 443 yards in the air and had 5 TD passes?the Eagles dominated the Niners last season in a colossal mismatch in which they had 583 total yards to the Niners 142 and controlled the ball 37:57 to the Eagles 22:03?the game is all about matchups and I like the Eagles offense to exploit the Niners secondary and the Niners banged up O-Line (OG Larry Allen is OUT and OT Jonas Jennings is Questionable at this time) will be vulnerable against the type of Defensive scheme that Eagles DC Jimmy Johnson will present to the team this week?the Eagles secondary is a bit banged up (waiting on official injury report) but I expect DC Jonson to compensate for that?An angry Eagles team bounces back this week.

Adding this one for a small play:

Carolina Panthers -3
Over Tampa

I?m not waiting any longer for the line to move in my favor in this one?because it won?t!...in fact the line should move up in this game due to the fact that the Panthers are ?hinting? that Wr Steve Smith might be able to play come Sunday...regardless whether he plays or not the Panthers are the play but don?t wait because I feel there?s a great chance this one will go to -3.5 before long?as for the game itself?I?ll keep this short and simple?the Panthers are 0-2?but they played well enough to win against a good Vikings team on the road last week and had the game under control before a 4th qtr coaching blunder (rare for John Fox)?the Bucs are just BAD?their O-Line is banged up?they have No running game?and Chris (overrated) Simms has no time to throw the football?this week Simms will be facing one of the best defenses in the league led by Julius Peppers?plus?the Panthers have WON and COVERED in their last three visits to Tampa Bay and are 6-0 ATS on the road against division opponents?Carolina is also 13-4 SU the last 3 yrs when the line is -3 +3 while the Bucs are just 6-11 SU in the last 3 years when the line is -3 +3?a desperate Panthers team comes out on top again on Sunday in Tampa.

Amazing how similar your plays are to what mine are. We are almost never on the opposite side of a game. Great minds think alike I guess.

:toast:

I hope we're also together on this medium size play for Monday night that I already "hit" because I think the line will move up:

Medium size play:

Monday Night
Atlanta Falcons -3 (buy the ?)
Over Saints

A rarity for me to pick a Monday night game this early? but? I?m taking my chances and buying the ? and hopping on this now because I feel this line has a better chance of moving to -4 before it comes down to -3 when the sharpies and their money hit the strip this weekend?one on one this game is a bit of a mismatch? but because both of these teams are 2-0 and the Saints will be re-opening their Dome on MNF makes this an attractive game and one that I feel the road Falcons will win and cover?last season the Falcons swept the Saints drubbing them in ATL 36-17 and squeaking out a 34-31 win in NO in a game in which the Saints ran for 211 yards with backup runners (McAllister was OUT) because the Falcons interior Defense was decimated by injury?this Saints team is indeed 2-0? but?they?ve played 2 of the worst teams in the league (Browns and Packers) in those first 2 weeks?in both of those games the Saints opponents had ample opportunity to turn the tide and win the game but came up short?this week the Saints take on a Falcons team that is an impressive 2-0 soundly beating one of the best teams in the NFC in Carolina in week number one and pounding an overrated Tampa team last week 14-3 ? I say pounding because the score could have been 42-3 but the Falcons missed 4 field goals and faced a tough Bucs red-zone Defense?the mismatch in this one will be the Saints defense attempting to stop a Falcons offense that is rated #1 in the league in rushing averaging a whopping 279 yds per game!...the Saints have done well against the run so far but they have faced 2 teams with lousy offensive lines and no commitment to the run?the Saints ranked 27th in the league last season (allowing 134 yds per game) against the run and nothing has changed on the Defensive side of the ball for them to significantly improve that number?in fact I have been on record saying that I feel the Saints D-Line is one of the better ones in the league (ranked top10)?but?in my mind their Linebacking unit is the worst in the league with starters Fujita, Simoneau and Shanle all being 2nd string castoffs from other teams?their secondary is below average?on the flip side?I like what I?ve seen from the Saints offense so far this season?but?once again?look at who they played?the Saints are currently playing without a legit starting TE but often use 3 receiver sets with Reggie Bush being the 3rd wideout?the Falcons Defense has been solid up to this points allowing just 9 points in 2 games (without LB Hartwell) and won without DE Abraham last week?with or without Abraham the Falcons D-Line matches up really well against a patchwork Saints offensive line that gave up 4 sacks last week to the Packers?the Saints are just 2-7 ATS in week #3 past 9 seasons while the Falcons are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 meetings with the Saints?all in all?the sentimental bettor will take the Saints in their re-opening of the Dome?but?as they say?your heart is for pumping blood and your head is for picking winners...the much better team will be 3-0 on Tuesday morning!

Adding one more play (very small) for some pocket change.

2 game 6 point teaser

Buffalo Bills/NY Jets UNDER 40.5...Very Windy 25-35 mph with higher gusts and a chance of showers during the game...this one will be a rock'em sock'em field goal battle.

Detroit Lions -1...Let's see I went against the Pack in week one for a BIG Play win and against the Pack in week #2 for another BIG play win...It's week #3 the Pack is on the road and the Lions are Home desperate for their first win...I'll go against the Pack again but this time for a very small play.

Good Luck today!

I like your card once again today FnG (except maybe Atl ;)) Have another great one :thumb:

Thanks Trollin, good luck to you as well today.

I think the Saints/Falcons game may be close for a while because of the emotional angle... but I have no doubt's that the Falcons are the better team.

Adding another pocket change very small play:

Seattle Seahawks -3 (bought the 1/2)
The G-Men are a bit banged up and that long ride to Seattle won't help Burress's back and Shockey's ankle...plus...the Giants were clearly outplayed for the first 3 quarters last week versus the Eagles when McNabb had 2 passses dropped in the 4th... and... their decision to go on 4th and 1 backfired on them...this is a tough spot for the G-men and the Seahawks are tough at home way out west.

Looks like I spoke too soon. We are butting heads on Seattle-NYG. Good luck on the rest.

I just felt that yesterday was a tough spot for the G-men to come out on top...Seattle is the kingpin of the NFC in my mind and a tough place to play after a long trip.

My medium size play on my winning teaser put me ahead for the day yesterday despite batting .500 by going 2-2-1 overall...the Falcons -3 tonight for another medium size play will either make or break my week.
