I'll probably jump on the Bears as soon as the line is posted in this one. If Seattle continues their rout of the Giants today I don't think the Bears will be favored by more than 3 or 4. It's funny how Seattle typically looks like world-beaters at home but they can lose to just about anybody on the road. Shaun Alexander will get absolutely shut down by that Bears D. He's playing with an injured foot as it is. If Chicago's pass D can hold up I don't see the Hawks scoring much.

I initially thought this was an early start, but it's actually SNF. That's too bad, because Seattle is absolutely terrible when it comes to early road games. Nonetheless, I really think they get handed their first loss next week in Chicago.

Good luck all...

Thanks Moe. It's good to know you're seeing it the same way. The only thing that worries me is that Chicago's O is pretty bad and Grossman is nothing to write home about. I hardly ever play straight moneyline plays, but I'm also considering taking the Bears ML depending on the line.

I think 3 or 4 will be the line as well. maybe 3 and the hook.

i think the bears offense is much improved, but you are still starting a rookie quarterback and although its not his rookie year, he still doesn't even have 16 nfl starts yet. he makes boneheaded plays like the int for td today.

seattle looks like world beaters today, but they are at home against a team riding an emotional high, traveing across 3 times zones, who basically quit after the 1st quarter of todays game.

should be a great game and a good litmus test for both teams.

i think the moneyline play is better than laying over a field goal with the bears.

it comes down in a game like this to who makes less mistakes. sounds basic i know, but tight evenly matched teams whoever turns it over less wins.

i think either team could win, but i wouldn't lay more than a field goal either way.

Thanks for the input BDB. You're right, the Bears are one of those teams that it's always scary laying over a FG with. I bet them pretty heavy on the moneyline last year agailnst the Falcons when they were, I believe, -3. I think they covered the spread but I felt much safer betting the ML. My site hasn't posted the line yet... but WOW. +1? That's the overreaction based on today's Seattle game I was looking for. I'll jump on it as soon as I can. Good luck to you...

Thanks fellas. Alexander is much more hurt than he is letting on. He has a bruised bone in his foot so it's really limiting him. He didn't practice this week and may not practice next week. I really think he will be a non-factor against the Bears. Hasselbeck is also banged up too. He still has bruised ribs from the first game against Detroit. He also took a shot to his shoulder today, but I don't think that was serious. I think the only way Chicago loses is if their O makes a bunch of mistakes. I'm hoping they don't. Good luck...

Don't worry gardenweasel, I don't have much clout on the NFL board so I don't think people will be pounding Chicago based on my opinion. :mj07: I agree though, when I found out a few weeks ago that the Hawks were playing AT Chicago I had it circled as well. Seattle is just a bad road team and I think their offense will really struggle against that defense. Good luck...

hmm I guess i'm all alone on this one. I think Seattle will only get better. Their offense is starting to click and with the addition of Branch it's really going to give the Bears secondary another target to watch. Despite Alexander not being 100% they still have a half decent running game.

Rex Grossman is so overrated it's sick. The guy is gonna make mistakes. Hasselback looked sharp today dispite his ribs.

Next sunday is gonna be a wake-up call for the high flying Bears who are 2-6 all time vs the Hawks.

I doubt that you're alone. The Seahawks are a very good team, and possibly the best in the NFC. You're right about Seattle's O, they have a lot of weapons and are one of the most balanced teams in the league. However, with Alexander injured I don't think their running game is very good at all. He's getting about 50 or 60 yards a game and although Mo Morris is a capable backup, he certainly isn't the answer.

I don't disagree at all about Grossman. He isn't a good QB. His game against Minny wasn't a surprise to me. His first 2 games were. Hass is a great QB no doubt. But as I posted yesterday the Giants pass D is one of the worst in the NFL. It's just awful. And he did throw 3 picks. Chicago's D will harass him all game and Seattle's O-line has looked pretty suspect this year. Spencer is a better guard than Womack, so that injury didn't hurt them, but the other guard Gray got hurt yesterday as well. Now Sims, a rookie, may have to fill in. Two young guards on an O-line and an injured RB against an aggressive, attacking D like the Bears spells bad news to me.

I don't think this game will be a blowout or anything. I actually think it will be very close. But despite Seattle's potent O I don't see them going into Chicago and lighting up the scoreboard against that D. And one of the biggest reasons I'm going with Chicago is that Seattle is an awful road team. The week 1 game in Detroit wasn't a fluke. The score probably would have been the same if the game took place on week 10. They struggle to beat bad teams on the road and usually lose to good teams on the road.

No worries gw. My site doesn't even have the line up yet. :mj07: And I agree, I don't Seattle scoring many points next week. Good luck...

Thanks Thom. Can you do me a favor and say you like the Bears though? :142smilie I think you're right about the under. I may have to jump on that too. Chicago never puts up many points and like I said, I think Seattle's O will struggle as well. Good luck!
