Bronco mendenhall, the BYU coach, responded to a question in interview claiming it isn't something he believes in. What was that you ask? If he would look ahead to the TCU game while preparing for the utah state game, he said no. Wow, playing a team that hasn't scored a single offensive point all year and you wont look ahead to the team that will win the conference. I could understand this with some teams, but they were playing utah state...their backups could have beat utah state. Bronco is a great coach, but I think if he didn't look ahead, that was a big mistake. I think TCU will win this game and it will probably stay under due to the great defense of TCU and the above average defense of BYU. All I have to say is TCU @ home off 11 days rest, against a BYU team on the road on 4 days rest.....hmmmmm, I'll take TCU with that.

Have you ever heard of a coach saying in a conference that he was looking ahead to next weeks opponent? No way. Your looking way to into this one.

I think a coach would have to admit they were lookign past utah state towards tcu. Who would actually look @ utah state (still yet to score any offensive points) they have to be one of the worst teams in the country.

No coach at any time will ever say he was looking past a team.

well maybe not looking past a team, but at their next opponent, especially when their next game is on 4 days rest and their biggest game of the year excluding instate rivall utah.

Do you really think when they installed their sets during the Utah St week they weren't practicing sets based on TCU film? Whether the coaching staff says it or not they are.

Coaches study game film on their opponents throughout the summer, not just during game week.

Just my .02, but I think any coach worth a damn would never let his team, or himself for that matter, look ahead to the next week's game, no matter how bad the current opponent was. And even if they did they would never admit that publicly. I think it would be viewed as being very disrespectful to Utah State if the coach said they were looking ahead to the TCU game.

I like BYU here. Too many points for a quality team. They have played AZ at home and stayed close and took BC to overtime. This will be low scoring and BYU eeks out the upset.

TCU completely shut down Tech's offense. They should have no problem with BYU's. BC is overrated and BYU has not been a good road team over the last few years, although I believe that is beginning to change.

Bet against byu's qb Beck at your own risk. He is the best qb no one knows a/b in college football.

don't forget beck is not 100% with the ankles and has yet to win a "big" game in his career.

my thought is they gave him the week off against happless utah st. to be sure he is 100% for this game. as for not winning a big game, first time for everything. very talented offensive club in my opinion. i like both the dog & the over in this game cause if there are any fatigue issues for BYU they are more likely to show up on the defensive side of the ball.

beck may have the potential to be the best unknown qb in ncaaf, but he has yet to prove himself. He has had chances this year and has not shown us he can run with the big dogs. BYU is good, but tcu is once again putting teams in their place with their D, it should be a great game to watch.

Completely agree. Beck doesn't come up big under pressure at all.

Why would playing in Ft Worth phase BYU when they have gone to Tuscon (where USC had a tough go last week) and all with way to Boston C(beat Clemson). BYU is good and is not going to get an ass beating here. I like the points. BYUs D has allowed 16, 14, 27 (in OT) and zero points so far this year. And by the way, Tulsa isn't bad either.

Anass beating? 5.5 points is far from an ass beating, it is not even a touchdown. Also...byu shut out utah state(a high school team could do that). and it doesn't matter what your d is allowing if your offense is allowing points. Your post is going to give people the wrong picture. BC scored 30 points, Tulsa scored 24<---yes tulsa 24, and arizone scored 16. Not horrible showings, but far from what you make them sound like. A team's d can shut out a team and their offense can allow 40 points to be scored against them, it is a team sport.

Well, usually I'd say the Texas heat would be the problem, but it will be mild temps tomorrow. I'm hoping for a good game with a TCU win.

tcu has played baylor, uc davis, & texas tech. BYU is by far the best team they have faced so far this yr. I'm taking the points w/ a BYU team that has played well against athletic competition w/ the better qb in a revenge spot. Short week doesn't concern me at all w/ byu, it's not like they've been out partying.

g/l w/ whatever you play guys.

Thats the problem...they can't relieve the stress. No booze, no sex, they have everything built up inside them and no way of getting it out. TCU on the other hand has farmers daughters left and right, they are all loose and ready to go.
