Home team is 21-5 in Bell's last 26 day games behind home plate. Fourth biggest homer ump out of all MLB umps with at least 25 games worked this season, and that's around 4-50 umps.
First reaction says Vargas, his day numbers are good and he can put together a good game any day of the week. Sanchez however seems to like pitching better during the day, and although he is coming off two bad outings they were both on the road, at stadiums that are notoriously murder on visiting pitchers and clearly give the home team a distinct advantage, Coors Field and Miller Park.
A team starting a left handed pitcher, in my eyes, almost always has an advantage. Together with the fact that Zona is 1-9 L10 vs. a team with a losing record, 1-8 their L9 day games and 1-6 L6 day games after a night game, makes me side with the Giants. I think that todays game sets up an ideal situation for the rookie to pitch a good game, he is at home pitching during the weekday in a game that there will not be a big crowd at, I would think he will be more comfortable and bounce back from his previous two road outings.
Vargas does have a good day record, Zona is 9-2 L10 started by him, but if the Giants can beat a probable NL Cy-Young Award Winner why don't they have a good chance to beat Claudio Vargas?
Going with:
SFG ML -121 for 2 units
SFG RL +175 for 2 units
SFG ML + Under 9 parlay 2 units to make 5.5 units
Good Luck with whatever you decide to do D!
