Rutgers -3.5
Power running game, penchant for not helping the other team out with mistakes, and good defense combine to look like Tony Soprano U will roll. Very good coaching for Rutgers.

What are your thoughts?

All I know is I bet So Flo against UCF and watched the game and came up with 2 things-

Frosh QB Matt Groethe holds on to the ball too long but is the fastest/quickest white QB since Crouch.

Take what you want from that...

Im on Rutgers this program seems like it continues to get better

and the rb rice should have a good game to go along with his great season He is leading the big east in rushing ahead of slaton which is pretty impressive

I've bet Rutgers every week and I'm not stopping this week. They have a legit team that shouldn't have any problems covering on the road at SF. Rice and Leonard all day will wear them down pretty fast

FYI

Last year Rutgers was riding high at 6-2 going into this home game against So Florida who had been off for almost 3 weeks and dealt the Knights a big home loss on them.

Also, Rutgers lost there starting wide receiver to injury last week so there relying on a couple of red shirts and 2nd year players to step in and help out a pretty ineffective pass offense so far.

I live in New Jersey and see this as a tough game for Rutgers who haven't played anyone worth mentioning yet and this is there first Big East game of the year on the road.

This is gonna be Rutgers coming out party.
Rutgers -3.5 is solid
They have a Coach on the rise.
G. Schiano maybe the next @ Miami Canes once Coker is gone after the season
IMO they will win one vs either Louisville or WVA.

while i do like rutgers' team, i will absolutely be taking the 4 in this one. usf is athletic defensively, though fairly undisciplined in the secondary, and they can hit. also, as marra mentioned, the qb can make plays. this will be a tough place to play on a friday nite.

also, at a certain consensus site, out of 1011 "wagers", 829 are on rutgers! that's 82% folks. that alone would be enough to get me off of a road fav on a friday nite.

I agree but sometimes Mr Public is watching games too and sees the right thing.

At least I hope that's the case. :sadwave:

well, sometimes that may happen. but these weeknight games seem to pay off the books at a pretty high% when there is an inordinate amount of people on one side. gl.

didn`t a powerhouse louisville team play one of these night games in south florida last year or the year before...as around 17 or 20 point faves.....

and end up grabbing their ankles?.....

i love this rutgers team...but,this line seems to have moved slightly the wrong way....

scares me....alot...

This is my favorite game on the board this week.
I expect USF to keep it close for a few qtrs.
Then the Knights rushing attack will dominate!!

...i have been going back and forth for years on whether that stuff is legit....i ask myself why they would want to reveal that info? I don't know, I look at it every week though :mj07: and I agree with you - was looking hard at rutgers earlier in the week, but a road fav on national tv with those type of numbers makes you think...if it is legit, it is enough to lay off perhaps......

I'm a lifetime New Jerseyan and RU fan, and I think that this could be one of their best seasons ever, however, the problem with Rutgers is their QB, Mike Teel has been downright brutal this year, but kid in high school and now at Rutgers has been a winner. I watched USF against Kansas and wasn't impressed, I think if Rutgers can keep that stellar ground game goining and take pressue of Teel they should cover against the Bulls this weekend. Them being ranked for the first time since 76 and the revenge factor are pretty big angles here as well
