Keep hearing on Cable news, Tom Kean running for the Senate. His family has been in NJ politics since the first Kean dove from the Mayflower and swam into Weehauken.
They keep pronouncing it as Kane rather than Keen? Which is it?

Reason I asked, although not very entertaining is I was raised in Nj and it seemed a Kean was always a Governor, Senator or something and John Kean, a Congressman in the late 1800's bought the re-naming rights of the Town of Granville to Keansburg, pronounced Keensburg. Oh well, so much for the History lesson.

I live in Middletown (Red Bank), NJ and have only been here for a couple of years. I've always heard that Keansburg is an area you don't want to be after sundown. Any truth to that? Irony, huh...a politicians name attached to something sleezy.
