Anyone think that Arkansas can keep this thing close?

I am thinking that since Auburn had a tough road game last week, and Florida on deck, I am willing to bet that Arkansas will give them all they can handle.

Maybe Arkansas even wins straight up.

Any thoughts?

gotta like Arkansas getting 16 here. i agree with your logic on the sandwich game between SC and UF. this should be a hard-fought game. I see a 7-10 point Auburn victory

I do not have Arky winning outright, but I do feel this is a nice spot to take the dog w/ FLA on deck. I will likely be on the Hogs by weeks end.

I see an Auburn blowout. 20+ pt win. Especially since it is @ Auburn.

Auburn is behind USC in both BCS polls. They cannot afford a close game and play conservative. They need an impressive win. USC beat Arky 50-14 @Arky, so AU needs similar results.

On the road, I feel Arkansas will turn the ball over. I think they had 4 or 5 against USC and I think AU D can get the same turnover ratio. Especially @home facing that INEXPERIENCED QB Mustain. If you force that many turnovers, it will be a blowout. To ask a team to cover large spread you need solid defense. Auburn has that.

It's funny how the national media pundits criticize Auburn for playing a close game on the road at South Carolina in front of 80,000 fans and say they weren't impressive enough but when USC goes to Pullman, Washington and squeaks out a win and barely wins the media says "that shows the character of the USC team and that they know how to win close games". Seems like a double standard to me. As for the Auburn Arkansas game, I think Auburn covers but Arkansas historically has done very well on the road as a big underdog under Houston Nutt. In fact, they were 4-1 ATS last year as a double digit underdog.

You can't compare playing at home vs playing on the road. MUCH tougher to win and play well on the road.

Auburn will force Arkansas mistakes and that will lead to a blowout. Freshman QB playing @ Auburn? Isn't Jordan Haire suppose to be hostile environment? Auburn has serious issues if freshman QB keeps his team in the game on the road against #3 team in the country.

Scott....what's your take on Wash @ SC ???
Any chance the Huskies cover that one....

YES! USC is really banged up and Washington is playing with confidence. They have mobile QB which has repeatedly killed USC throughout the years. They shouldn't be intimidated and they have been tested all year with tough schedule.

Only one thing scares me if you are backing Washington. TURNOVERS. I think it killed them against OU and def. will against USC. Stanback might start pressing and USC D will force turnovers like they are designed to do. When that happens, USC scores TD's real fast especially since PC often goes for it on 4th downs. Last week WSU did not turn ball over and played perfect. (= close game) I doubt that happens again. USC might be getting back their stud DT for this game. (ellis)

I wouldn't bet the game. Even without Jarret, USC offense will open it up against Washington. That is something USC has not done yet all year. Sorta of a question mark leading into the game and UW is weak in the secondary.

Yeh maybe Arkansas has matured some since the opening game with USc.

Ever think of that one.

Arkansas started year playing 3/4 at home. Only road game @Vandy. Doesn't prepeare you well to play @AU. 36pt loss @home vs USC? 20pt win @home vs Utah St.? 2pt win @Vandy? 1pt win @home vs Alabama?

Auburn is suppose to be an elite team. (#3 in country) They are facing a FRESHMAN QB who is playing on the road for first time in hostile environment against what is supposed to be a great defense. Right? Auburn knows they are behind USC in both BCS polls and USC beat this team by 36 @Arky with QB making his first career start (booty).

AUBURN should get the cover. No reason not too.

In other words, Auburn better cover or move down in the polls behind beloved USC.

I would bet you a hat on this game but I remember when you welched on Judges hat for
about 3 months on 19 bucks. Same week you played USC for 15 grand.

But I don't know how anyone could look at USC's last two performances against the dregs of the Pac-10 (a 20-3 win at Arizona and a 28-22 nail-biter at Washington State) and conclude that this team is playing better than Michigan, which currently trails the Trojans by four spots in the coaches' poll.

QB John David Booty and the offense are actually playing pretty well, despite what the low scores might indicate. The truly alarming development if you're a USC fan is the way Washington State QB Alex Brink picked apart the Trojans' young and still-suspect secondary last Saturday. None of their previous opponents had attacked them like that. The Cougars racked up 418 yards

I never mentioned the AP poll. So why would you post it? What I said was Auburn is behind USC in the 2 BCS polls. That is the coaches poll and Harris Poll. AP is not factored in the BCS system. I thought you knew this stuff.

Last week @ washington st. USC had a total of 5 returning starters from last year starting. :scared USC is a bunch of freshman, sophomores and juniors. Give them some time to grow up and mature. USC also needs to get some key injured players back. Once again it has been injury plagued season for USC. BTW, playing back to back conf. road games is not easy, especially with a young inexperienced team. Playing the #4 rated SOS in the country is difficult, and starting your season with 3/4 games on the road is brutal.

I agree Booty is playing well. Way ahead of Leinart at this time in his career which is scary. Next 4 games USC will open offense so it will be interesting to see how he performs.

Lastly, BRINK is a veteran QB who runs a complex offense. WSU had great gameplan and excuted it well with a QB who was on his game. Props to WSU! They showed the Pac 10 how to beat USC's 3/4 D. Arkansas, Nebraska, and Arizona couldn't. Time for PC to make adjustments.
