for all the hoopla the critics gave this, I thought this was one more sad example of MTV generation dizzying cuts; no character developement (didnt care about a single one of them); poor continuity in the game action (wasnt that kid OB on last drive when clock was running; didnt the last pass travel about 50 yds when they were at 30 before?); and an overwhelming sense that i was being "fed" images and impulses not storyline, which was such an absurd ending that I laughed out loud ...

as a writer/coach/reader/film & TV fan over 40, this sadly had no appeal to me ...

I loved the book and thought the movie was horrible

curious to see what you guys thought, and how old you are if you did or didnt like it ...

all my best

Im 20, I thought it was decent... I agree with you too about the character development, it was pretty brutal. Very MTV like and the game action really didn't flow too well. Ill probably watch it because theres nothing else to do at 7pm on a tuesday night.

I thought is was ok, and I thought the same thing on the final pass, they recovered an onside kick and it did look like he threw the ball from his own 20.

I figured the QB would get hurt and the backup would play, but I didn't think it would be the 1st epsidoe.

FWIW, my wife was almost crying at the end with the kid in the hospital, I was laughing at her, i said it was only a TV show he's not really paralyzed.

Lost interest 15 minutes into the program...very MTV like...

But what I've been getting into lately is Smith with Ray Liotta...good stuff...

I agree exactly with your comments. I found the show to be kind of tired at this point...and pales in comparison to movies like Remember the Titans, etc. I have caught some of the MTV episodes of Two-a-Days, which is the "actual" story of a top flight high school team (I think in Alabama or the SEC-land somewhere) and that is more interesting, although more of the reality tv fare.

I like the head coach and the wife as actors, maybe they can carry it. But I doubt it will make it through the year.

got terrible ratings despite some payola reviews ... was 3rd in its slot ... cant believe a lot that watched opener wont drop by wayside .. talked to some pals who thought it more or less stunk ... whatever happened to trying to establish some characters we can indentify with? seems like all TV honchos think anyone wants anymore is glitz and sizzle and no substance

thanx for commenting :)
