Talk about a game that I wouldn't touch on a Saturday EVER, but it's the only game on the slate for Wednesday so I'll take a stab at it.

Central Florida 1-3 (1-2 ATS) @ Marshall 1-3 (0-3 ATS)... First, you have Central Florida who lost their only road game this season 42-0 @ Florida and were outgained by an incredible 484 yards (637 to 153)!!!:142smilie :sadwave: Central Florida is just 3-5 ATS since the beginning of last season on the road as well. Their awful display @ Florida doesn't give me a lot of hope for the Golden Knights either. Many people thought Central Florida would be decent this season after finishing 2005 at 8-5 and losing to Nevada 49-48 in OT @ the Hawaii bowl. I believe Steven Moffet is better than his early numbers indicate for UCF as well. However, UCF is averaging 3.0 yards per carry and if you can't run, it's tough to win.

You also have a Mark Snyder coached Marshall team. Since he's taken over as coach last season, Marshall is 5-10 SU and 4-9 ATS:scared :com:
Marshall has played an incredibly difficult non-conference schedule, playing West Va, Kansas State, and Tennessee on the road and losing and not covering any of them. Marshall whipped Hofstra 54-31 in their only home game this season. Bernard Morris sucks @ QB, but Ahmad Bradshaw is a solid RB. I think he'll control this game.

The line has gone from Marshall -4 to -3 today... I'm going to take a shot with Marshall on the money line @ -145... not sure why it's lower than normal for a 3 point spread. Typically the team that runs the ball better wins and Marshall should win the rushing battle easily. Marshall is at home and they should be ready to play on National TV.

Central Florida beat Marshall 23-13 last season, nice revenge angle on the Thundering Turd IMO. It used to be near impossible to win @ Turd stadium when Moss, Pennington, and Leftwich were on offense. My how times have changed.

Marshall ML (-145) for 6*... Thoughts and comments are welcome as I have the ability to cancel my plays up to 1 hour before kickoff. Keep in mind, this is Marshall's conference opener and I'm sure they are a little bit excited. I like Bradshaw and I hope Morris can limit his mistakes. Moffett scares me, but he doesn't have a good supporting cast IMO.

Prediction: Marshall 24-17

FWIW: The Gold Sheet has predicted Central Florida 23-21... I don't mind going against them as I typically don't like betting on teams that can't run the football. UCF also has lost back-to-back home games and their team could give up if the Thundering Turd gets an early lead.

ucf avg. 100 ypg on the ground and 185 through the air...while you have marshall avg. 160 on the ground and 144 through the air...i think its tough to compare stats becuz marshall has played wvu and tennessee...and ucf has played florida...those games were stat killers for these teams

marshall is 2-9 ats as a favorite and 1-5 ats when playing a losing team...as of now 75% is on marshall, at least thats what i saw...with the public on marshall and them bad against the spread you almost have to take ucf

im gonna wait till a couple guys post tomorrow n c who they like

the last two games these teams have played have gone UNDER the total

I appreciate the replies and respect other people's opinions. I'm not sure what G-Man means when he says UCF can run the ball... 100 yards rushing and 3.0 ypc aren't eye opening stats IMO. UCF has played an easier schedule as well and that have still gotten out of the gate slow.

Glad to see Raymond likes Marshall as well. Please keep in mind I played every dog last week and won every game (Sunday-Friday). However, you have to handicap each game separately and I already took Marshall on the money line. The Thundering Turd should win this game.

are you at all familiar with ucf? or are you simply looking at a stat sheet? they have one of the best backs in the conference. smith didnt even play against south florida because of suspension. 1200+ as a true freshman. 130 last week off the suspension. runs very hard both inside/outside. if youre capping the gm based on the assumption that ucf cant run, then youre going to be disappointed.

Kevin Smith is a flat out stud...as long as Marshall can shut the down the run and force Moffett to throw the ball...Marshall should be able to pull off the win...I think Moffett could be one of worst QBs I've seen this season...

Sometimes you get the man, but sometimes the man gets you... very brutal loss for me on the money line. Marshall football has fallen mightly. Marshall was outgained 488-366. They got their asses kicked and deserved to lose. Bradshaw was special as I predicted, but the rest of this team sucks really bad. I had an excellent chance to win, but UCF converted the 4th & 7 on their own 25 yard line with 2 minutes left and then marched right down the field on the Thundering Turd.

Did anyone notice the Gold Sheet picked UCF 23-21... they need to work on their prediction accuracy... they had Tulsa by 11 last night and went 11-3 ATS in the NFL last week.

If it wasn't for my 2nd half play on Tulsa last night, I'd be bankrupt after tonight's lost. I have most of my bank on TCU and Fl St tomorrow. Will save the rest for Friday.

No more bad beats!
