Talk about a game that I wouldn't touch on a Saturday EVER, but it's the only game on the slate for Wednesday so I'll take a stab at it.
Central Florida 1-3 (1-2 ATS) @ Marshall 1-3 (0-3 ATS)... First, you have Central Florida who lost their only road game this season 42-0 @ Florida and were outgained by an incredible 484 yards (637 to 153)!!!:142smilie :sadwave: Central Florida is just 3-5 ATS since the beginning of last season on the road as well. Their awful display @ Florida doesn't give me a lot of hope for the Golden Knights either. Many people thought Central Florida would be decent this season after finishing 2005 at 8-5 and losing to Nevada 49-48 in OT @ the Hawaii bowl. I believe Steven Moffet is better than his early numbers indicate for UCF as well. However, UCF is averaging 3.0 yards per carry and if you can't run, it's tough to win.
You also have a Mark Snyder coached Marshall team. Since he's taken over as coach last season, Marshall is 5-10 SU and 4-9 ATS:scared :com:
Marshall has played an incredibly difficult non-conference schedule, playing West Va, Kansas State, and Tennessee on the road and losing and not covering any of them. Marshall whipped Hofstra 54-31 in their only home game this season. Bernard Morris sucks @ QB, but Ahmad Bradshaw is a solid RB. I think he'll control this game.
The line has gone from Marshall -4 to -3 today... I'm going to take a shot with Marshall on the money line @ -145... not sure why it's lower than normal for a 3 point spread. Typically the team that runs the ball better wins and Marshall should win the rushing battle easily. Marshall is at home and they should be ready to play on National TV.
Central Florida beat Marshall 23-13 last season, nice revenge angle on the Thundering Turd IMO. It used to be near impossible to win @ Turd stadium when Moss, Pennington, and Leftwich were on offense. My how times have changed.
Marshall ML (-145) for 6*... Thoughts and comments are welcome as I have the ability to cancel my plays up to 1 hour before kickoff. Keep in mind, this is Marshall's conference opener and I'm sure they are a little bit excited. I like Bradshaw and I hope Morris can limit his mistakes. Moffett scares me, but he doesn't have a good supporting cast IMO.
Prediction: Marshall 24-17
