I listen to him on satellite radio and on the internet.
It is well worth the 13 bucks a month for it. His program makes long car rides just fly by. They replay that days show on one channel and west coast on the other.(100, 101) I never get to listen to the show as a whole but, get enough of it, with replays. They do a good job of mixing in other howard related shows too, riley martin, tissue time, friday shows, post show...etc

I never liked him much before, or I guess its better to say I didn't care either way. But I've had Sirius since inception basically, and since he came on in February, its all I listen too. He's really grown on me. I think he's matured a lot in his old age from where he was before. Some of it gets old, I mean how many times can a chick ride a sybian, but the prank calls and such are funny.

Don't have in-demand, just don't have the time to watch it. But Stern is good imo.

I don't think he never made it here in Hicag

Every outlet he's been on ended up dropping him in short order over the years

I don't get him myself. He's absolutely nothing without all the hyenas he's got on the payroll that surround him. I want to take a bat to that no talent black chick he has working for him.

I don't know if it's him or the profoundly stupid broads he brings in for his T&A bits that bores me to death. I haven't listened to him in some time though. He's definitely pulling in some sick coin.

You are way off base with the comment that every outlet has dropped him in short order...........

He was at K-Rock in NYC for 12 years and made them a BOATLOAD of cash. He was syndicated and was put in many markets, the only ones that ditched him were Clear CHannel affiliates. They had a problem with his strong honest comments about Bush. They also lost their asses after dropping him.....Do you really think that Sirius would have paid him the kind of jack that they did if he was a loser? You have to be kidding me. I have no problem if you say that you are not a fan, everybody has, and is entitled to their personal opinion. Hell there are actually people out there that listen to Rush Limbaugh, just goes to show yuo that there is no accounting for taste.....But you will have a very difficult time finding actual proof that he isn't and ahsn't been a huge money maker for whomever he has worked.:nono:

In Chicago....

In Chicago....

He was on 105.9 WCKG for as long as I can remember. His ratings were not that great but he was on in the mornings. Went off the air when he went to satellite.

I listen to quite a bit of radio all day and night. It's on pretty much all my waking hours.

RRC he was not on CKG for that long. Before that he was on at least two or three other stations. Two or three years at a station is basically the term for one contract (most are longer) with online talent. He was pretty much dropped once each station could unload him or he would breach his contract. It isn't just him, but basically any of these syndicated radio shows never do much here in Chicago. That is why ESPN went with the local afternoon show and Brandmeir's (spelling) also did nothing while it was based in Cali a few years back. Now he's back to Chicago working in Chicago and his show is cranking (same ol same ol). The Score is always playing promo's for the station that it's based here and not in New York also.

Not pumping Brandmier, but I would be willing to bet that his old act being played today on the Loop is blowing away any crap Stern did here ratings wise.

Background Information
Week Of 10/2 - Reprinted From The Chicago Sun-Times
Story by Robert Feder

In the latest jolt to America's most famous "shock jock" Howard Stern has been fired from a Chicago radio station for the second time in two years. WCKG-FM (105.9) which has carried Stern's New York-based syndicated morning show since last March cited unspecified problems with "on-air content" for pulling the plug, effective immediately. His last show aired Friday. Stern, 41, previously aired in Chicago on the former WLUP-AM -- now known as WMVP-AM (1000) for 10 months before he was fired in August 1993. "Over the past couple of months, we here at WCKG have become philosophically uncomfortable with some of Howard's on-air content," said vice-president Mike Disney, vice president and general manager of WCKG.

WCKG MAY NOT HAVE GOTTEN
LAST WORDS FROM STERN

By Judy Hevrdejs and Mike Conklin. - Chicago Tribune.

Shock jock Howard Stern and G. Gordon Liddy on the same Chicago station-WJJD-AM? That's the speculation after WCKG-FM general manager Mike Disney, who said he "felt uncomfortable" with Stern's often-inflammatory material, pulled the plug Friday on the controversial, New York-based talker after a six-month run.

This is the second time in two years Stern has been dropped in Chicago; WLUP's Larry Wert-subject of subsequent Stern tirades on WCKG-did it in August '93 for similar reasons. But with ratings "quite excellent" this time, insiders speculate the show will get picked up quicker, and an Infinity Broadcasting station, which owns all-talk WJJD-AM, is the likely spot due to its Stern syndication ties.

SUMMATION: Stern Show Pit-Stop
Stern fans and detractors should realize that Howard's switch over to WJJD 1160am was simply a PIT-STOP in the race to win in Chicago. Howard's swift move to Infinity's talk outlet is proof that Howard's show does work in Chicago, if you've got the balls to air it. All parties involved agreed that the split was "amicable" and that Howard's ratings were on the rise. Unlike Evergreen's WLUPam, WCKG did settle with Howard on the remainder of his contract.

"There's 37 guys doing my act in Chicago and you're asking me to tone it down. I got a guy sending me boxes of doodie in the mail. What do the think I'm going to do, sit back and take that!", Howard said of WCKG and Mancoward. Mancow and his fans may have felt a victory for 30 seconds, but I'm sure when they heard Howard was back on in Chicago, there was a rush to their colons like a bad case of diarrhea.

I bet most people listen to this show because of Artie. Sterns fascination with puking and farting are so old it makes you turn the station. I haven't heard from him since he went to Siruis. I wonder if he beats farting to death like he did when he was on tereastial radio

Born in Arlington Heights in 1957, have lived in Chicagoland my entire life.

Quite simply was Stern on ckg since 1996 or not?

Why are you so defensive?

I used to listen to Stern until I moved down south in the early 90s and just started up again when he moved to Sirius. Watched him on E when he was on too. I have caught a few of the on-demand shows, which ROCKED!

Sirius is the best, the music is incredible, the sports variety is incredible (EVERY NFL GAME- forget directtv), & howard stern makes me spurt coffee through my nose @ least once a morning(always have to turn down the sybian rides at work!). Last yr. artie lost the football pool to a chicken, this yr., its crazy alice. :142smilie
