Same type of spot the Tigers were in the other part of New York today, veteran Moose vs rookie Verlander, Tigers got the dog win. You have the veteran Glavine who just like Moose struggles in the playoffs against the rookie Kuo, who has shown he can pitch.

Mets go up 2-0? Or do the Dodgers tie it up?

"I'm not going to go out there tomorrow and try and undo what happened in 2002," said Glavine, who is 12-15 with a 3.44 ERA in 32 playoff starts. "I mean, you can't go back, you can only go forward and try and do a better job. I wasn't pitching well at the time, and I feel a lot better about where I am as a pitcher right now going into the postseason."

Glavine not exactly lights out in his playoff apperances.

Just a hunch....but I think that Dodger Blue shines tonight. This kid, Kuo, can pitch and he's shown that he can pitch in..... NY CITY.......Dodgers pull out all the stops tonight. It's a win or it's over and they know it.

mussina is one of the most underrated pitchers of the last decade.

im not at all disagreeing on anti-glavine. i think the dodgers can, and should, hit him.

but im just not understanding the correlation here.

mussina has a sub-3.00 era in september/october in his career. that speaks for itself.

Simple to understand, Mussina doesn't get it done in the playoffs.

I do think Glavine wants to come out and prove a lot tonight. Might be tough to go against the vet with a rookie on the mound, Verlander is just sick, wicked and nasty, except for his one mistake to Damon of all people, he pitched great. I don't know if Kuo can hold down that Mets O. Going to need to make a last minute decision on this one.

look how many guys the yankees have signed for big money who have completely busted. mussina is consistently good year in and out. guys like randy johnson, jaret wright, and pavano have been just as likely to give up 7 runs as they would be to get a quality start. when mussina takes the ball, you know what youre getting every single time. its hard to really bomb the guy.

as for mussina not getting it done in the playoffs (kg quote), look at the run support he has gotten. with that kind of era, he should be well above .500. this year is a perfect example of no help. look at all the errors made behind him, tons of unearned runs and minimal run support considering the yanks lineup.

That's no excuse, they had a 3-1 lead and Moose gave it up. That was enough run support, he made some mistakes, Curtis Granderson made him pay. Not to mention Moose had a very genorous strike zone, compared to Verlander, who had to work for every strike.

gotta agree with Gman on this one...Moose is always solid and I always have faith in him to go out and give a solid effort...he'll give up 3-4 runs and 6-7 innings just about everytime...all those other pitchers the Yanks have are scrubs imo...

I'm not saying he should be bombed......only that he is consistently average.

Wang is a scrub? Yanks would be on the verge of being swept with RJ on the mound tomorrow without that scrub.

Forget the starters

Think the Dodger game will be a low scoring affair that comes down to the pen.

Late money also hitting the Under
