Louisville will blast Middle Tennessee State tonight in Nashville. Coach Bobby Petrino and the Cardinals love to pour it on as they're on spread runs of 19-6-1 ATS as a double digit favorite and 13-3 in their last 16 contests when laying 20 or more points. They've won and covered each of their four games this year, including both games as a road chalk. And tonight's game is not a true roadie as this game will not be played in Murfreesboro, but will instead be contested at LP Field in Nashville and the stands will feature lots and lots of Cardinal red. Louisville opened the year bombing Kentucky 59-28, and despite some injuries to some key offensive personnel, the Cards haven't not stopped rolling as they've since beaten Temple, Miami (Fla.) and Kansas State by a combined 117-13 score. This is a well-rounded, solid football team.
Middle Tennessee State has beaten up on three bad teams, but has also been blasted in its two losses by a combined 83-10 score. The Blue Raiders are not super talented on offense and scored just 17 total points in their first three games against I-A opponents. Last week they broke out with a good offensive game against a bad North Texas team, but two weeks ago they lost 59-0 at Oklahoma. Louisville comes in having allowed just 13 total points in its last three games. The Cards will dominate the Blue Raider offense.
The Cards average 44 points and 523 yards per game on offense. They've been off since a 24-6 win at Kansas State two weeks ago, a game in which the Cards had three turnovers and didn't dictate the tempo of the game. Last week, New Mexico State overtook Louisville as the top-rated offense in the country. This isn't sitting well with Louisville and the Cards will pour it on and on and on tonight in this easy blowout win and cover!
