had a very good week last week in both college & the pros....looking to duplicate that this week...
marshall-3.....
this is a very big emotional game for marshall tonight. first it is their first home game in close to a month.....& 2nd tonight they will be celebrating the movie about the marshall team that died in a plane crash.....here is a copy & paste i got from another forum about what is being planned for tonight's game & how the atmosphere will be....
"It will not only be the normal sporting media associated with a college football game. With Matthew McConaughey and McG in town to promote the upcoming "We Are Marshall" movie from Warner Bros., in which McConaughey stars at Young Thundering Herd coach Jack Lengyel and McG has directed, the Marshall stadium will have the likes of the syndicated nightly show Entertainment Tonight, E! Entertainment Channel, Entertainment Weekly magazine and other outlets who normally cover the Hollywood scene. "I think its going to be great," said Head Coach Mark Snyder of Marshall. "We will be the only game on the country...it's what we are all about here.""
"Our kids are focused and we are hoping for a big, big crowd Wednesday night," said Snyder. Marshall is promoting "Keep It Green" for the UCF game and asking all fans to wear green jerseys, shirts and jackets to the game. MU will distribute 10,000 McConaughey trading card to fans coming into the game, as well as give out 5,000 "We Are Marshall" t-shirts to the first 5,000 fans in the gate. "This is going to be new for all of us, how crazy this game is going to be," said Snyder of what is expected to be a huge crowd for the game and the large media pool covering the contest and "We Are Marshall" movie promotions. "Our administration has done a great job to make sure it is very non-distracting for us (off the field). We have had a tremendous week so far."
besides what's stated above, i think tonight is a good spot for marshall. they are coming off a bye & have had 2 weeks to prepare for this conference opener.
i have seen both teams play this year, & i have come away with the feeling that marshall is the better team. they played w. virginia, kansas st.,& tenn. all on the road & except for the w. virginia game, marshall played kst.& tenn.alot closer than the scores indicate.
ucf has lost to fla.,so.fla.,& so.miss. obviously they were ouclassed by fla, but in the other 2, they only scored 17 on so. fla. & 14 on so. miss. so i think they must feel a little dejected with those performances.
from the line of scrimmage standpoint i think marshall has a slight advantage over cfla when they are on defense. cfla has a very good runner, but i think the marshall linebackers are quick & active enough to contain him & take their chances that a very inaccurate qb (moffet), who is completing a little over 50% of his passes try to beat them through the air.
i think marshall has a very big advantage over cfla. when they have the ball.the ucf pass defense is one of the worst in the country & i think the marshall qb, morris (completing about 63% of his passes) will be able to take advantge of that. he'll loosen up the defense by sending the receiver, spann down the field & will be able to find the te over the middle short. this will give marshall's best offensive player, bradshaw room to run.
i look for marshall to win this game by double digits.
good luck.
