Season Stats: 15-13-3 (+4.50 units)

1. Indiana +7 over ILLINOIS (1 unit)

I am a very forgiving handicapper and I believe that is why I like the Hoosiers here.

Indiana just got murdered by Wisconsin last week by 35 points.

Illinois just shocked the world and beat Michigan State.

I believe the books are overreacting to last week's game with this 7 point spread.

I played Illini and bought the 1/2 ... Indiana appears to be in oblivion and after seeing ILL vs Rutgers I said Id never bet them, but at home I thik they might get 7 pt win ... a team as bad as they are cant overlook any potential patsy and will build on their MICH ST rd win not dance in streets; plus ILL has played by far a tuffer slate ... gl, gregg

FWIW, its Illinois' homecoming and after tasting a win; an in-conference one and on the road no less, the Illini come home and beat the hapless Hooisers senseless and cover this short number easily.

2. TULSA -5 over Southern Mississippi (1 unit)

Well, seeing Southern Miss. play this past week, I didn't like a lot of things against a weak team.

Now, Tulsa, who beat Navy by 1 point, has a 3-1 record and is at home.

I would say Tulsa wins by a touchdown+.

5. BUFFALO (+3-1/2) over Ball State (1 unit)

Cardinal defense is porous (560 ypg last 3 games)! Buffalo has had an extra week to prepare and an improved attitude under new Head Coach Turner Gill. Careful Bulls (only 1 turnover in first 4 games) generate enough offense to spring mild upset. Ball State has covered once as road chalk since 1997!

6. HOUSTON (-17) over UL-Lafayette (1 unit)

Doubt ULL's ground-oriented offense (only 1 TD in first 2 road games) can trade for long with gun slinging senior Kolb and better-balanced Coug attack. Kolb has 1389 yards passing, 12 TD's and only 1 INT this season. ULL has 1136 yards total offense for the year.

7. IOWA STATE (+7) (-115) over Nebraska (1 unit)

Balanced ISU offense helped take Cyclones to OT last year in Lincoln. ISU is 4-1 as a home dog the last 2 years. Nebraska's defense couldn't hold a big lead vs. Jayhawks (574 yards) and is vulnerable at times. Iowa State QB Meyer has thrown for 662 yards in the last 2 meetings vs. Cornhuskers.

8. HAWAII (-11-1/2) over Nevada (1 unit)

Wolf Pack "D" has displayed lots of leaks vs. quality attacks, and that platoon lacks playmakers who can slow Hawaii QB Brennan (14 TD passes already) and June Jones' rampaging UH Red Gun. Home-field edge has really meant something in this WAC rivalry (host has won and covered last 6!).

Thanks gregg.

Rest of day did not go nearly as well as weekend stands at 2-5 with the Hawaii game pending. Currently leading that one as the Bows are up 13 (I got -11-1/2).

Mid day games with LSU and Oklahoma just killed me.
