New York Jets Passing Offense at Jacksonville Jaguars Passing Defense (Great Matchup) - Chad Pennington came out of the blocks hot in September, but October was a little less flashy for him as he opened the month with 17/23 for 207 yards, 1 TD and 1 interception vs. the Colts last week (he had 19/29 for 183 yards, 1 TD and 0 interceptions the week before vs. Buffalo). After the games' final play Laveranues Coles received medical attention and was spotted with his arm in a sling after the game - initially the word is that he doesn't have a serious injury but Coles and Pennington owners will want to keep an eye on Coles' practice status as the week moves toward Sunday, just in case. Coles is a crucial cog in the Jets' engine this year. He led the team with 6/81/0 last week (Jerricho Cotchery snagged 3/65/1 in the #2 role last week, and has landed at #8 on the fantasy WR board after 4 weeks, with 18/284/3 to his credit - Coles is #7 with 30/412/1 to his credit during the same span.

Jacksonville's secondary ranks 23rd in the NFL after 4 weeks, allowing an average of 225 passing yards per game - they are tied for 26th in the NFL with only 6 sacks to date, but 6 interceptions (4 generated by CB Rashean Mathis, who has interceptions in 3 of the first 4 games). Last week, Mark Brunell lit up the Jags for 18/30 for 329 yards, 3 TDs and 1 interceptions - Jacksonville has a lot of work to do in this segment of the game heading into the middle of the NFL season.

This is a good matchup for Pennington - he and his receivers should have a strong game.

Cleveland Browns Passing Offense at Carolina Panthers Passing Defense (Neutral Matchup) - Charlie Frye notched his first W of the season last week, while tossing 22/32 for 192 yards, 3 TDs and 2 interceptions. The return of Joe Jurevicius to the field (5 targets for 3/22/1) clearly helped ease the press of coverage on Braylon Edwards (8 targets for 6/75/0) and Kellen Winslow (4 targets for 3/31/1). Darnell Dinkins turned 1 opportunity into a TD, with 1/3/1. It appears that Frye is moving in the right direction in this phase of the game entering the second quarter of the season. His receiving corps is stronger now that it was during the initial 3 weeks, and Frye is making good throws for the most part. He has amassed 79/125 for 866 yards, 5 TDs and 7 interceptions (with 17/58/3 rushing to boost his fantasy performance into the top 5 at his position). Hopefully, he'll be able to cut down on the interceptions now that he is finding a rhythm in the offense.

Carolina's pass defense hasn't been particularly good to date, with an average of 211.8 yards allowed per game (17th in the NFL). They have posted 8 sacks (tied for 17th in the NFL) and 2 interceptions through 4 games. This is a ho-hum, average bunch, despite all the pre-season hoopla about Carolina's defensive front. Drew Brees lit them up last week for 28/38 for 349 yards, 1 TD and 0 interceptions.

Frye and company are improving as the season flows past, while the Panthers took a step back last week - this looks like a neutral matchup for the visitors, on balance.

I'd start Frye. The best QB is not always the best play and Frye is scoring very well in my league. Playing from behind constantly, Charlie now has a nice group of receivers to throw to and remember that his feet are a viable weapon as well.

I get ridiculed for playing him but I'm 4-0
