Why do so many have a disdain for USC?

I am a huge Trojan supporter for 33 of 35 years on this earth. I also am a die hard realist and believer in College Football. Is is my favorite sport.

I do have to say that it is rather difficult to come to this board and always have someone bashing USC. Now I certainly don't want to turn this into a contest of the SEC against the Pac etc.

What I would like is an honest assessment from people as to why they dislike USC! If it because you don't like the overwhelming support of their ultimate defender on this board or the overwhelming media hype then so be it. But the hatred has really gotten old.

SC has always been a very prideful program with it's share ups and downs. Lots of prestige and history like many other acclaimed programs.

Let me know why the dislike. And no I will not counterattack nor should anyone else if they truly love college football. And try to put on an unbiased hat in your commentary.

I actually grew up a USC fan. Anthony Davis was my hero. I certainly dont hate them, but certainly fed up with the discussion of them on this board. Isnt there a Tommytrojan.com site or something like that?

throw up and SC will be great stuff then maybe everyone would calm down. But in fairness the constant attacks do incite people to defend.

The SC board consistently gets the same type of things but the logic of the anti SC people is much better understood there as they typically are acting out passion for their schools. I expect to see SEC vs Pac there.

Here I would like to analyze strengths and weaknesses of teams. Discuss things like the great performance of Calvin Johnson.

It seems that once one of things starts then it is like pouring gasoline on the fire.

What I want is for people to not hijack this thread and discuss why. We know the people who hijack and incite.

It has always been funny to me that people who claim they love college football are always on the attack. I utterly dislike many LSU fans, love many LSU fans, don't like the team, respect the program, but would never try to out of my way to insult them

The same could be said by many fans of SC if they really are college football fans.

It is sad that a few people can truly ruin perceptions.

I for one am one of those who thinks Texas won the game. Most SC fans feel this way. To hold Leinart accountable for making a statement of unity and belief less than a minute after the game is questionnable.

UT was easily the best team last year.

Miami, FSU, Penn St., OU, Nebraska, ND etc. are all major powerhouses and were recently on top and had great success. All these major powers are currently down. USC is on top and has stayed on top despite player turnover, and the future looks even scarier!

In 2002, i came onto Madjacks, told everyone USC and PC was building a dynasty. I was laughed at and told it would never happen etc. I am the one laughing now! :mj07: USC is just getting started!

Wasn't USC up 12pts in the 4th quarter against Texas? Didn't Texas score on 4th down play to win the game? Didn't Bush make illegal pitch that killed USC scoring drive? Didn't Leinart throw an INT that killed scoring drive? Didn't Leinart fail to make 4th and inches on scoring drive? Didn't White come up short on 4th and 2 to end the game? I know Texas played roles in "some" of those stops but this game was clearly a game of INCHES! Didn't the refs blow 2 HUGE calls that went against USC? Bush illegal lateral and VY knee on ground for Texas TD? NCAA publicly apologized for BOTH blown calls. THOSE ARE ALL FACTS! How was Texas "easily" the best team last year?

That is why Leianrt made those comments. USC sucked that night yet still managed to have 12pt lead in the 4th quarter and blew it. Almost every team gives up against USC in 4th quarter down double digits but VY was amazing and Texas prevailed. Huge props!

Texas didn't dominate USC. Texas rightfully so won the BCS National Championship but odds are, USC beats Texas 8/10 times if they play. On that night, Texas was 3pts better. Awesome game and Texas pulled it off. Go Longhorns!

If Texas beat USC the way USC beat OU the year prior, then your statement makes sense.

Many other programs could make arguments that their program is as acclaimed and I do know all the SC stats that could support our claim. Off the top of my head, ND-Mich-OU-Bama.

Supporting your team should be fun not a constant debate to legitimize.

Lastly not one person has said that SC has not been the best program of the past 5 years. They have said we bought it, so what. Until the proof is provided we don't know.

I didn't say USC was the all time best program. When the Yankees were winning, they were hated. When the Yankees weren't winning, everyone was ok. Now that Yankees are back on top contending, they are hated. Similar to USC. When USC was struggling they weren't hated. Now that USC is back on top and flat out dominating CFB, they are hated! Yankees full of star power and USC is/was full of star power. Very similar. Only difference is USC makes to the big dance!

I have been on this site lurking mostly for 7 years. I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that Scott has caused a lot of the hate towards SC.

Heck, Im a member of C&G, an alumni & hold 6 season tickets to SC & I almost started hating them after reading Scotts "debates".

This site isnt a scout or rivals site. That is where all the flaming of each others schools should be. MJS is about capping. Scott should focus on that stuff cause he does a decent job when he focuses his attention there.

I used to be an SC fan, I found an old SC football in a closet the other day, and it lead me to question why i now root against them or swerve on the curb if i see someone wearing SC gear.

1. The "Lakers effect" - As in everyone in Socal LOVES SC. They are thier FAVOOOOORITE team. They all rock the gear, and talk about SC names. Even though 9/10 of them never heard of SC before Palmer/PC started winning. I just cant stand a whole city that jumps on the bandwagon and his this ignorant arogance. Its like a city full of Scotts out here!

2. How SC gets all the breaks in every game. Some call it their will to win. But how many questionable calls has SC gotten in their favor? Or how many fumbles have bounced into their hands? I could go on for years as to the breaks they have gotten but it just blows my mind.

3. The disgusting media hype. "SC takes on the world" for a month heading up to the Rose Bowl on ESPN every night. The fact that Leinhart "introduces" Booty on the pregame show at Ark. Why the special treatment?

4. How fvckin disgusting PC is. He is the biggest bitch of any coach in football. Give me bob stoops anyday over this guy, he is bitching to the refs 24/7. And that is when calls go his way, if they give SC a gift of a bogus 5yrd facemask call he will be screaming for 15yrd!

5. The scumbags at SC and around the program. No other program in the country has as much sh!t going on as these guys. From the guy who raped several women (he was a juco transer i forget his name and position) and PC and trojans new about it and still let him in. To Sanchez being arrested on rape charges. To players bein paid to stay at SC, how much you wanna bet none of their top wideouts leave? They are getting paid better at SC than in the nfl!

I hate that longtime SC fans have to deal with the hatred of college football fans from me, because honestly you dont deserve it. I do admit that losers like Scott who live their life through SC and will no doubt jump the bandwagon when they start losing, really do pour gas on the fire of SC hatred. As for the Sanchez situation it was an assault case in which no charges were filed. If you followed the case more that the initial reaction, the accuser's own father came out publicly and said that the allegations may not have completely accurate.

Before you come back with the comment that he was probably paid off, think about it. It was his daughter.

Thats who it was frostee, thanks ballsweat. Yeah, I wouldnt think anybody outside organization would really know about Rucker and his past, and I dont hold a damn thing about SC dirty deeds agianst thier fans, its not like they are doing it.
But Pete Carrol and the SC crew new about it, just liek they new about Bush gettin paid. Yet they did nothing about it and suffer zero consequences.

Only thing I have against the fans is #1 and thats only the fake fans that i see on a daily basis.

Your right about the Laker flags. When they were on the 3yr run those flags was everywhere.

My argument didn't hold with USC supporters then and I am sure it won't hold now, but EVERYONE who counted agreed to the BCS process, you simply can't win the National Championship in a year that you don't play in the Championship game.

YOU FAILED to state one important thing. When did the AP Poll agree to name the winner of the BCS NC game their National Champion? The only thing the AP Poll agreed to was to let their poll be used in the BCS Formula. That is it. The coaches poll signed the deal to name the winner of the BCS NC their National Champion.

Therefore, Coaches Poll was FORCED to vote the winner of LSU/OU, while the AP Poll could vote ANYBODY they wanted too.

BCS was designed to get the #1 and #2 teams to play. AP poll felt it didn't work in 2003, and felt USC was the #1 team in the country. AP can do whatever the FAWK they want too. Coaches poll can't and is restricted.

This year, if FL went undefeated and won BCS bowl, USC went undefeated won BCS NC game over OSU, AP could vote FL #1 even though they didn't make the BCS NC game. IF the AP felt FL was the best team in the country. One certainly could have made an argument for FL. (if they ran table and won their BCS bowl game) This year, AP did have FL #2 and USC #3.

Nothing to explain. You have no argument. These are the facts. Nothing to dispute. You act like the AP poll had a written contract to vote the BCS NC game their National Champion. WRONG! NOT TRUE!

We have the exact same system today, except AP no longer is calculated in the BCS formula. Prob. because of people like YOU who FAIL to understand the system. Otherwise, NOTHING has changed. We will have an AP NC and BCS NC (coaches poll).
