thought he would have retired before he let george fire him, espn reports have pinella coming in a manager. i would have like to see donnie mattingly or even joe girardi get the job done. maybe pinellas fire and passion is just what the yankees need plus some starting pitching

oh well we wait another year

The boss is an ass. Torre is arguably the best manager in baseball. The yanks made the playoffs every year he managed. Did the idiot writing the checks ever think that maybe he needed some pitching somewhere down the line. I juts think it is great that Bonderman was the player to be named later in a yankee trade and he is the one who puts the dagger in them. I hope the yanks spend 400 million next year and still fail. It shows in the end that money can't buy eveything, that heart and team chemistry can beat anyone at anytime.

Best manager?? Okay I can agree with the 'arguably' part. If I was the manager, I would've won 9 out of the last 10 World Series. More pitching.....the Yankees have been cheating for years ($$) and you want to give them more because they lost! Where does the stacking end. Maybe they should be allowed a 60 man roster and half of the leagues revenue so that they can just buy every single elite player.
Sheesh!

Was glad the Yankees took Alex R. off of the Rangers. Talk about over paid... And that other guy in Houston... Roger C.

torre isn't close to being the best coach in the game. its not tough to win with a ton of talent and he still can't win the title for the past few years. put leyland in there as coach and he would've won more than torre.

i like the move....the over-paid, pampered yanks were flat...they need a fiery manager & pinella is the perfect choice...

now it's time to clean out the useless players who can't handle the pressure of playing on the big stage....starting with arod & johnson.

Wether you like Joe or not, I think it is another classless move by George. Joe seems like a class guy win or lose and he is treated like dirt by George. Couldn't you wait a couple of weeks until the season is over and then make a change in your manager? Typical low class move, by the classless owner of the evil empire. Can you hear the deep breathing as he talks through the black mask saying "Lou, Lou you are my manager" :mj07: :mj07:
