Updated Record for Playoffs 7-7 +29.8*... Nice to have a number of Underdogs winning in the playoffs as I have been taking a ton of dogs... probably too many in fact. However, you can't be up this many Units laying chalk. Tuesday night, I had the following thoughts.

When I heard the matchup of Zito vs. Robertson... I immediately thought the A's would be approximately -160 odds. The line came out at Oakland -133 @ my book and I was shocked. However, the line was quickly raised to -140, but has now come back down to -133. I know Ellis is out, but he isn't worth $.25 on my handicapped line.

I think Vegas is banking on a lot of Underdog/Tigers bettors for this game, but I don't see how you can take Robertson vs. Zito at this price. Robertson was a .500 pitcher on the season and really struggled during recent weeks. Zito has been hot lately. I might be a sucker, but definately going with the following:

A's -133 for 10* - Zito has a much better chance at pitching a gem than Robertson. Zito pitched a gem @ Minnesota while Robertson really struggled down the stretch. The Tigers should have a difficult time playing in front of a hostile Oakland crowd as well. I haven't taken many favorites, but I like Oakland in this spot.

Adding Oakland -1.5 (+165) for 4*. I see a nice A's victory in Game #1.

Prediction: A's 6 Tigers 3 - Robertson gets hit fairly hard and A's find a way to win game #1 by a few runs. I'm crossing my fingers this game is exactly how it appears, a comfortable A's win.:SIB
This will be the most money I've put on a baseball game this season. Saying I'll be a little nervous is an understatement. However, I won 21* on Detroit in game #2 so it won't be to win the most money.

A's and Under

A's and Under

D,

GL today, hopefully we can see the A's pull out a victory.

I think Zito has been solid, and the Oakland fans are pumped for this series. They will be loud! Sure the tigers have done some amazing things this year, but Oakland has been longing to make it out of the first round of the playoffs for some time.

I got the A's on the ML
and the Under

Play Ball!

7-8 +12.5*... OUCH! A's are done very early. Zito came out so strong getting the first 8 guys out and then he flaimed out. Tigers look very focused and have a similar look right now to the White Sox of last season. Brutal loss for me as I just lost a ton... game is already 4-0 and Tigers are threatening for more.

I apologize to anyone I swayed on this loser. Dumb, dumb play. I felt so good before the game, but unfortunately Zito was a big Zero:sadwave:

Amazing how one bad ball-strike call changes a game. Inning should have been over at 1-0. Becomes 2-0, alot of extra pitches, and all she wrote. Props to Tigers for taking advantage and Boos to Zito for not sacking up. Doesnt help him to realize that his team isnt going to push anything across against a very average pitcher. Series may already be over 4 innings in.

Wouldn't give up yet... this has been the Tigers problem all year... get a nice lead early and don't hold it. It has especially been a problem for Robertson and Bonderman. If the A's get get to the D bullpen, then they should be ok... other than Zumaya and Jones, the bullpen is not that impressive
