Cardinals (Jef Weaver) vs Mets (T Glavine)(NLCS Game 1)(FOX) 08:15 pm Mets -1.5 +120

Saw the Mets playing some of their best baseball
of the season as they swept the Dodgers in the NLDS,
and we can't imagine a more favorable scenario for the
first game of the league championship. The Cardinals
have been truly dreadful against lefthanders in 2006 with a 14-29 mark in night games).
They'll be in against the NL's most profitable pitcher in
Tom Glavine who led the Mets to wins in 12
of his 15 starts at Shea, posting an ERA under 3.00 in
the process. St. Louis counters with Jeff Weaver (5.19
ERA in 15 starts with the Cards), who'll be squaring off
against a tough Mets' lineup that cleaned up vs. righties
with 5.2 runs per game). The Cardinals may
have a strategy for winning this best of seven series,
but they'll be hard pressed to slow down the Mets'
juggernaut in game #1

No blow out last night, Weaver Pitched great, I was anti Weaver early this yr, He has looked as good as any down the stretch. If given the chance and a few runs, He may be a winning pitcher in this series. Either Weaver was great or the the Mets are in trouble with their bats after last nights showing.

The Mets were having fun until the game got tight in game 2 and then they got tight and stayed that way threw game 3. Can they get it back ? We'll see. If the CARDS WIN GAME 4, IT'S OVER.

Agree. For Mets fans it seems unfortunate that the Cards bats finally came alive now at the right time. When Big Albert's clicking it really seems like the confidence trickles down to the rest of the team like they're relieved their leader is producing and they follow.

I got the Cards for the series, but for Mets backers you are right, they need game 4 or wrap it up. Scary relying on Perez, but hey, we've seen stranger things happen when it comes to pitching in these playoffs.

Interested on what the WS price will fall at. Hard to dismay the motown boys of destiny the way their clicking, but if the price is right at the start may have to grab the dog. Can't get 7 wins in a row outta my mind for the Tigers and you'd think momentum has to slow down at some point. If the Cards make it and their bats stay hot i truly believe they can rattle some confidence away from Detroit who has been so dominant in the pitching game. No matter which team it is I think I can justify to myself playing against the Tigers in the first and even second games of the series cause winning 8 and/or 9 in a row at this time of year is a hard hard thing to do.
Best of luck to everyone.
