Ok, i have nothing to do.

I just read the Raymond Thread and someone tell him all of his play are Joe Public plays. I became a bettor since I was 17, now Im 26, and I always read that "Joe Public its all over that play" "Thats a square play" Everyone and his mama is betting that play". I t always seems funny to me to read that because WHAT ARE WE? Are we sharp guys? Wise Guys? Does anyone of you makes your bookie moves the line .5 or 1 point after you place a bet?

So my question is this, why makes you think we are sharp guys? I really hate when people that only bet on MNF or NFL games tell me that they won on the colts (because of peyton manning) and on the ravens under (because of ray lewis) and I didnt had the balls to pull the trigger because it seems an obvious play.

Does anyone, fell the same?

Good points, points that can lead to a long long arguement both ways. But, I totally agree with ya and know what your saying. I tend to ignore the "obvious play" thing, just cap my games and don't buy into that hype. Yeah, we always come across fishy lines each week and the first thing out of people's mouths I always hear from friends is "AHHHH MAAAANNN THAT'S A TRAP" maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but there are too many variables in each game in my opinion to just look at a line and automatically call it a trap or a public play.

I use my local books for "public play" info and only go opposite on MNF if they are really heavy sided. Reason being is I just play around and after all these years stay away from the MNF hype with the exception of a handful of games every year that come across solid after capping. In my opinion MNF will almost always be perceived as a "public play" cause it's the only game bet that day by all of america with half of them playing desperation catch up and the other half betting blindly cause they're simply fun and entertainment bettors, the guys that bet just cause they're watching the game.

And you always hear it every Tuesday, people either happy all day on top of the world cause they bet the Colts -7 and making statements like: "I told ya man, Colts were the solid play, never a doubt, I wish I woulda put more on it" or you get the reverse with guys whining making statements like: "That was bullshit man, they got screwed, no way they shouldn't have covered that game, refs were totally against them" And of course the inevitable Tuesday statement: "Bullshit, Vegas wanted them to loose, had the refs on their side" It's all comical no matter which way it goes, and that's just Joe Public singing the cheers or Crying the blues. Those are the guys I consider "Joe Public", they bet blindly, bet for the hell of it, and they lose more than they luck out. Same guys that bet every home game they go to in the NFL just cause it's they're team. There you always get the statements of joy when they're team wins, if they don't cover but win, then that guy always states he doesn't care cause his team still won, then you always get the home team Joe Public rebel bettor who bets against his team cause then he always proclaims "If I lose my money it's not as bad cause my team won, or If my team loses at least I made some money which makes it not as bad!"

I don't consider myself anything but a capper, and there definately are some sharps on here who move their local lines when they bet. Following some of these guys for 4+ years now I'm convinced of it. I'm not one of them, but at least I'm tight enough with a couple of my locals that they tip me off on their sharps and it's helped tremendously along the way. Can't tell you how many potential bets I scratched cause those guys were on the other side and it saved me, and how many bets I won more on cause they were on the same side as me. Same goes when I check posts by some certain cappers here every week. Did they lose some? Of course. Do I consider myself a bad capper for that? Hell no, I love it and it always makes me look back at where I coulda went wrong or something I may have missed.

the monday night game was a fine example of Shat if you ask me.....

everyone i talked to on tues said i fell in the "trap" of balt.

however, anyone who watched the entire game.....

ravens to at the end of the 1st h cost a td or a fg.

ravens still with in the number late 4th, but dickhead punter kicks for 10 yds - leads to denver fg.

lastly, the vastly overrated "error mcnair" throws a late int that leads to more denver points - this time a late td.

how did i fall into the trap? my bet was good for 57 minutes.......

if the **** bag doesn't throw those 2 picks - den probably wins by a fg.......:sadwave:

i think that trap, etc is horse crap.

Here's what I'm saying: most people are losers and the house knows more than you. If you can make money betting 6 and 2.5 point favorites, more power to you. I used to bet that way and lost every year.

You can't use one or two games as an example because anything can happen, but over the long haul, betting obvious favorites (games like Philly -3 this week) will burn you.

The only people I know that have ever won on a year in and year out basis are the guys that try to take the house's side when something seems "off". They bet a lot of dogs and are rarely on the majority side.

You can do whatever you want with my comments, but that's what I know about sports betting.

1/Better who consistently wagers $50 wants to bet $500 on a game gets a "Limit"
2/Sometimes a key player gets injured a book will set a limit rather than pull a game off
3/The guys who takes the bets are the bookies or books. The guys who bet are Joe Public no matter how smart they are or how much they bet. That's it.
