Have you heard if Eckstein is going to play? My guess is this little guy would play with any injury. Definately leaning towards the Cardinals as well, but price tag @ -125 is a little higher than I expected.

I tend to agree here.....this is STL's chance with Carpenter right here right now!! No way they want to go into a game 7 at NY......If STL goes to the big dance I REALLY like them agains DET!! I see everyone on the DET bandwagon already, but don't forget STL was just here a few years ago and got swept by Boston....don't think that's not fresh in LaRussa's mind still. Cards get their revenge if they make the Series! That's where my money will be....GL!

Have you forgotten what Detroit has done in the playoffs so far? And all the momentum they have going into the next series? Not to mention how well rested they are? Top to bottom Detroit has the better team. Betting against the Tigers this post season has not been a wise choice.

I'm very aware of how DET has done this postseason and how Jim Leyland has never lost a World Series and all that, but IF the Cards make it there I'm not seeing them go down again in a second chance with relatively the same team and the same manager.....that sweep at the hands of Boston a few years ago will be a motivation factor for them and LaRussa is a damn good manager himself. Everyone and their mother is going to be on the DET bandwagon if they aren't already and I'm just not seeing it being that easy for them to do it.....STL will have a lot of incentive from their recent sour expericence to the World Series which I see them doing it. I'm sure DET will be favored in the series too which is even better....now STL will be in the underdog role unlike the year they played Boston....If the Mets happen to make it my opinion changes as I see DET beating them.....not STL though.

It takes balls to play the chasing game in baseball, especially when you're chasing favorites in a 3 or 4-game series.

Nice progression with the Cards.
