I believe the Mets have the edge in starting pitching, what teams pen has the best chance at closing out gm 6 ? The Mets hit Carpenter and they probably will again but what happens when Maine hits the shower after 4 or 5 innings ? The Cards have a big edge with handling pressure, I'm not so sure the Mets as a team can win in this spot. Wagner is big time most of the time but I remember him in that all star game and he has layed some tough beats on me in past post seasons. I went back and looked it up and this is the guy the Cards want to see late in game 6. Billy has answered the call in 6 post season games and he has given up 2,2,0,1,1,3 ER. That's 9in & 9er. Let's hope the game doesn't come down to Wagner. I can see the Mets wining if they go gate to wire but don't see this team coming from behind. Tony will waltz everyone he has out there to close this one out. Not a big Tony fan, but he usually doesn't **** it up until the WS. If the mets are going to win they have to hit the Carp early, I'll take the Mets for the first 5 & the Cards for the game.

Mets for first 5 innings and Cards for the game:shrug:

I have never understood how people can bet this way. Carpenter is the far better pitcher than Maine IMO. I think the Cards for the 1st half and Mets for the game would make more sense...

You may think Carp is the better pitcher, but my eyes and the numbers don't agree. If I was betting strictly on starters for the first 5 , I would have to take Maine hands down. The Carps L5 er per gm : 5,2,1,6,6. If Carp is around in the 7th the Cards should win. Trying to figure out what hes going to do is the hard part . Maine is going 4 to 6 then out. Would not surprise me to see Carp get KO early or go 7. Something just tells me the Mets can't win. Maine has given up 12 er in his L 5 starts. This game is going to the pens, I trust the Cards pen more.

Weaver was lights out in both his starts, but the Mets came back and hit Carpenter good early. Delgado played a long time with Carpenter in Toronto, he was doing allot of talking about his arm motion in the dugout last time. Maybe he picked up on something to tip the Mets off on what was coming.
