11-9 +45.5* on posted plays for the playoffs... I am 13-10 overall, but didn't have time to post this past weekend so I won't count those plays to my overall record.

Looking at tonight's game is difficult. You have Carpenter, who was hit very hard by the Mets in game #2 going against the rookie, Maine. Maine has yet to last more than 4 1/3 innings during the playoffs. Carpenter had been awesome until he faced this feared Mets lineup @ Shea. You also have the Mets facing elimination so I would expect a strong effort by the Mets. However, the Mets appear to be choking as well IMO. They were huge favorites to make the World Series and now face a tough task winning tonight as Underdogs.

I am worried about Eckstein as he's injured, but he's got more heart than anyone in baseball and I expect the little guy to play and contribute tonight. Pujols showed last night that his injury isn't as serious as everyone thought. I also expect Carpenter to bounce back tonight in a big way. The reigning NL Cy Young Winner has a shot to close out a 2nd consecutive series for the Cardinals with a victory. I expect Carpenter to have a strong performance and for St. Louis to pull out the win tonight.

Cardinals -125 for 10*

Prediction: Cardinals 5 Mets 3

Very nervous about tonight with the huge line drop from early in the day. I also didn't like reading Bryanz's post about Delgado giving tips to the Mets hitters on how to hit Carpenter.

Cards were -131, now -117 and even -110 at some offshore books... WOW!:scared :com:

Delgado can give out all the tips he wants, unless he takes the at bat against him every time I don't see the Mets doing much tonight. Chris Carpenter off a loss or ND this year is 6-3 with 3 ND and his team has won all three of those ND games. The o/u is 4-8 in this spot. I think he closes the door on the Mets tonight, I don't see the bullpen being used much in this game, not saying he pitches a CG but I would bet he comes close. The Mets will be desperate, swinging at pitches they shouldn't and if their is one pitcher who knows how to use a hitters aggressive behavior in the box against them it is Carpenter. People are pounding the Mets and the Over but I see a different game. Good luck tonight D!

Cherry-P, is everyone really pounding the Mets hard? I get the feeling a lot are on the Cards as well, have any numbers to back up that concensus is pounding Mets tonight?

Line is down across the board, all NY and LA (big city) teams always get pounded and now you have a big market team facing elimination at home, and btw teams in that situation are 1-5 this postseason. Love the Cards tonight, Mets are going down just like the Padres did, Carp takes them to the WS.

If the public is all over Mets, I don't like that one bit. I don't think it is as lopsided as you think though, Carpenter in this spot against a rookie, seems to me like a lot of people would jump all over the Cards and the former cy young winner. What are the Cards like undefeated in playoff games with Carp on the mound? They seem like the play to me, but one thing about these playoffs is, is that they are so unpredictable, that's why I can see Maine, the rookie coming in and having a great game and putting his team in position to win. None of the series have gone down to the final game yet, but maybe Maine gives them what they need tonight and that bullpen takes care of business in the middle innings and the Mets live to see another day. Going against Carp in this spot, is not smart, and I know I could be way off here, game could play out totally different. But these playoffs have been so up and down, anything can happen.

Congrats to all Mets backers. I was way off on this game. Cardinals should have jumped on the Mets early, but didn't. Carpenter didn't pitch that bad... Maine pitched excellent. Should be an exciting game #7 tomorrow night.

Updated Record 11-10 +34* on posted plays. I'll be interesting to see the pitcher for the Mets tomorrow as apparently Perez may go on short rest.

I thought Maine would come out and have a great game, he won this game for the Mets. Game 7 is going to be real tough, Mets got the momentum right now, probably lay off the side and look at the total for tomorrow. Good stuff.
