Anyone know where to find how many game 7's there have been and of those, how many the home team has won. Also would be curious to know the average score of all the game 7's.

I know there are a few database sites, but I am not sure how to use them to look up specific information

In MLB playoff Game 7s, the St. Louis Cardinals have a record of 9-4 (3-4 in their last seven Game 7s; their nine Game 7 victories are an MLB high), while the New York Mets have a record of 1-2.

In the history of best-of-7 MLB playoff series, home teams in Game 7 have a record of 25-21 (.544) overall and 7-4 (.636) in the Semifinals round. Favorable precedent for the New York Mets: Teams winning Game 6 at home to force a home Game 7 in best-of-7 MLB playoff series (all rounds) have an 11-0 record in their last eleven such Game 7s; ironically, this winning streak began with the St. Louis Cardinals' win in the 1982 World Series.

That 11-0 stat is really something, but you can put that and every other stat away these playoffs, the exact opposite of what stats tell you is what goes this year. Not saying this means the Mets lose, I havn't decided on a side yet, might just go with the total, this game is a coin toss. The over seems easy with Perez pitching and Suppan who is not the same pitcher on the road as he is at home, seems like everyone is jumping all over that.
