staying right in line with the rest of the season, i split my 2 thursday games. i'll set a big goal for today.... 8-6. holy crap, 14 plays? i gotta lay off the crack pipe.
rutgers (+6.5) 2 units. ok, this line flat-out scares me. looks like they're begging me to take rutgers. but i gotta do it. i simply think they're a better overall team than pitt. here are pitt's wins this year... virginia, cincy, the citadel, toledo, syracuse, and UCF. with a home loss to michigan state. rutgers is better than michigan state. granted, rutgers hasn't steamrolled tough competition themselves, but i think their 34-0 win over navy last week is more impressive than any of pitt's wins. besides... RU beat illinois 33-0. illinois beat mich st 23-20. and mich st beat pitt 38-23. i have never known logic like that to lose.

oh, one more factor... i'm getting almost a touchdown from "the stache".
nc state (+1.5) 1 unit. maryland is terrible this year. as long as nc state doesn't dwell on their loss to wake, i see no reason they can't go into byrd stadium and get a win.
nc state/maryland under (44) 1 unit. these 2 teams have played 5 straight unders. i've seen nothing this year to indicate that will change.
UCLA (+13) 2 units. DDD (double digit dog) that outrushes their opponent. ND is 1-4-1 ATS on the season.
iowa (+13) 1 unit. i can't find much good to say about this iowa team. they have been a disappointment, to say the least. they are 1-5 ATS, including 0-3 on the road. so why are they only getting 13 from one of the best teams in the country? the only thing i can find to support this play is that iowa has covered their last 3 visits to the big house. maybe michigan will be looking past iowa to their big matchup with northwestern next week.
alabama (+10.5) 2 units. another DDD that outrushes their opponent.
cal (-24) 1 unit. since the season-opening debacle at tennessee, cal has been rolling over everybody. they have covered 6 straight vs washington. and while i was never a big fan of stanback, the huskies will miss him.
colorado st/wyoming under (40) 1 unit. good defenses + mediocre offenses = under.
stanford (+23.5) 2 units. this is either my worst play ever, or sheer genius. stanford is TERRIBLE. and now they lost their future-nfl qb. they have no chance in this game. NO CHANCE. sounds like a winner to me.
oregon st/arizona under(38.5) 2 units. the most points scored in an arizona conference game this year is 34. other than the game they gave up 45 to LSU, no arizona game has gone over 38 points. although i am a little concerned about the conditioning of arizona... according to their schedule page on espn.com, they play san jose state at noon today, and then oregon state at 7:00. that's tough, but i think they will rise to the challenge.
UTEP (+6) 1 unit. smells fishy. granted, UTEP has won 3 straight, albeit against weak competition. but houston has lost 3 straight games. gotta take the 6 points.
oklahoma st (-3) 1 unit. more of an anti-a&m play here.
florida st (-7) 1 unit. another line that screams to take the eagles. so i gotta take the 'noles and hope that, for once, they live up to their talent.
tulsa (-13.5) 1 unit. memphis is awful. and losing at home last week to arkansas state on a hail mary won't exactly help their confidence.
