85-61.....+13.72*

still not hitting my larger plays with any consistency like in previous years or like i'm doing in the nfl....

under 42 (130) utah/n.mexico....

was a little late grabbing this total because it opened at 42.5 or 43. imo, both team's defenses are alot stronger than the team's respective offenses.

last week against wyoming, utah rushed for 33 total yards & had only 8 first downs. the 2 games prior to that wyoming game, utah had 8 & 14 first downs respectively.for the whole year utah has averaged only 5 yds. per play (that's average) against teams that combined to allow an average of 5.4 yppl. n. mexico's defense has allowed an average of 5yppl to teams that would combine to average 5.2 yppl. so it seems that n.mexico's defense has an advantage when utah has the ball.

new mexico's offense has averaged only 13 first downs in their last 2 games & is ranked nationally # 98 in total offense. since they lost their starting qb (mc kamey) 6 games ago n. mex. offense has averaged a little less than 4 yppl against teams such as portland state,n.mex.st.,missouri,utep,wyoming,air force, & unlv....& only gained over 300 yards against portland st. & n. mex. st. utah's defense has allowed an average of 4.7 yppl to teams that would combine to average 5 yypl. so it seems that utah has a very big advantage when they are on defense.

if there are no crazy plays or turnovers at the wrong time, i don't see this game going past the mid-30s in total score. but i have been wrong before (lol).

good luck.

man, i wasn't even close on that utah under.

a few plays for saturday....

so. carolina-3(120).....

last week vandy upset georgia & it was the first time in 14 years that they beat a top 25 team. there are many angles & trends working against vandy this week. i also read that spurrier wasn't too happy with so. carolina's defense in their win over kentucky.so i look for a focused effort by so. carolina.

ohio-16...

i see alot of people are picking buffalo to cover in this game. but i don't see it. buffalo has given up over 30 points in each game during their 5 game losing streak. there are also a few trends that play against buffalo as teams that lose a high scoring game come in emotionally flat their next game.

baylor-3(120)...

during the last 2 weeks at home kansas has blown big leads & i have read that there have been grumblings in the kansas lockeroom that mangiano has not been putting his team in the right position to win games. meanwhile baylor has been improving offensively each week & is 3-1 in league play. so we have 2 teams heading in opposite directions.

ncst.+3....

maryland is 3-10 ats in their last 13 as favorites, while ncst. is 13-2 ats in their last 15 as a road dog. also ncst.has a better rushing attack & better defense.

arkansas-19.....

think ark. is primed to run all over the miss. defense that is allowing an average of 170 yards per game. think that miss. left it all out on the field in their ot loss to bama last week.

ucla+14...

ucla's running attack & defense keeps this game closer than 2 tds.

okla. st.-3.....

texas a & m is 4-14 ats in away games under this coach.

good luck.

tonight...

w. virginia-21(120)...

got it at 21.5 & bought the 1/2 down to 21.

expect wvu to be focused tonight for bcs rankings. wvu's winning margin so far this year has been 29 points while conn's run defense ranks 105nationally.

good luck.

Just wanted you to know that ND will finally be healthy on defense this week against UCLA.

Zibby (starting safety), Wooden (#1 corner), and T. Thomas (starting SAM LB) will be back after missing the last couple of games. This will be the first time since Penn St. that they have their starting lineup from the beginning of the season.

Plus, this knucklehead from UCLA has guaranteed a victory and it has gotten back to ND. This has been a slow two weeks so this might spark a fire under their butts...

Irish players find humor, shrug off UCLA tailback?s guarantee
By Michael Rothstein
The Journal Gazette
SOUTH BEND ? It happens from time to time. It could be a slip-up or a calculated statement.

It worked for the New York Rangers? Mark Messier. He guaranteed a win before Game 6 of the 1994 Eastern Conference semifinals against the New Jersey Devils.

A hat trick later, Messier looked like a genius.

Then there is UCLA junior tailback Chris Markey.

He issued the latest guarantee with the Bruins facing No. 10 Notre Dame this weekend.

Fresh off a loss to Oregon that UCLA coach Karl Dorrell called his team?s worst game of the year, Markey is calling for an upset. Reporters in California asked Markey about Saturday?s game and its importance to UCLA.

His response to the Riverside Press-Enterprise: ?This win is going to get us back on track."

Asked whether it was a guarantee, Markey confirmed it.

?Yeah," he told the Press-Enterprise. ?We?re going to win this game. I feel confident in my teammates we will get this job done and we?ll answer the call."

As of Tuesday evening, word from Southern California had yet to reach South Bend.

But when asked about Markey?s proclamation, Notre Dame?s players shrugged.

?You could say what you want to say," Irish senior left tackle Ryan Harris said. ?It may be something that he thinks can get his team emotionally ready. They have more media around them for a Notre Dame game, you never know."

He went on to explain that teams previously have tried to do this against Notre Dame. With national appeal, often a game against Notre Dame takes on added significance.

?We?ve had teams guarantee victories before and we?ve won and lost," Harris said. ?Monday doesn?t matter. Tuesday doesn?t matter. Nothing matters but Saturday at the end of the game what the scoreboard says and what happens in between those lines.

?We?ll see what he has to say then and maybe he?ll say the same thing. Maybe he won?t."

Sometimes, guarantees come in rivalry games or elimination series. This one came in the middle of a season where one team ? Notre Dame ? is barely in the national title race and the other ? UCLA ? is having an up-and-down season disrupted by injuries.

Plus, UCLA has never beaten Notre Dame, although the last meeting was in 1964, a 24-0 win in South Bend.

?Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, you know," said a smiling Notre Dame senior fullback Ashley McConnell. ?You can always use stuff like that for motivation, but I?ve been here four years. We?ve heard everything. It?s not uncommon with speculations here or there.

?If he knew the answer, there would be no use in playing the game, so that?s why you play the game."

Of course, there is some history between Notre Dame and UCLA ? in basketball.

The Irish broke UCLA?s 88-game winning streak with a 71-70 victory Jan. 19, 1974, and the teams used to play regularly up until the 2004-05 season.

The streak is an NCAA record, and the Bruins smashed the old mark with a win over Notre Dame the season before.

?I did feel, with my players, that there was some relief that we were beaten after 88," former UCLA coach John Wooden said last year.

As for football and this guarantee, Notre Dame doesn?t seem fazed. It doesn?t seem bothered or too fired up, although Irish coach Charlie Weis will surely highlight the quote for his players if he finds it. The players, they don?t look for what opponents are saying.

But they still laugh about it.

?If that?s how he feels," junior running back Darius Walker said. ?They have a lot of motivation and what not going into this game as we do and anyone does coming in to Notre Dame.

?What better way to make your season than to beat Notre Dame at home."

If Markey is correct, that?s exactly what will happen.

Wow, I.m not going to question your selections, but my local might have a beef w/your weather prediction(s).

I would advise only predicting one or the other.

Good Luck AR. Just wondering what's your take on the total for the Col.St/Wym game. Look's like cold temps. with a chance of rain. Two good d's with o's that don't generate a whole lot of points. I really like the under here. Any thought's?
