2006 NFL regular season breakdown:

BIG Plays 3-1

small size plays: 4-6-2

(Teasers 6-4, Sides 4-8-2)

Ugly week last week!

It's time to bounce back!

I hit this one hard.

BIG Play:

2 game 6 point teaser
Carolina Panthers +9
&
Philadelphia Eagles +0.5

Car +9?The Panthers have won 4 straight and come into Cincy with momentum?on the flip side?the Bengals come back home after a dismal performance in Tampa last week in which they let rookie Qb Bruce Gradkowski beat them in his home debut?this Cincy team is a mere shadow of the cocky Bengals team that won it?s division this season?the Bengals really miss C Rich Braham and LOT Levi Jones and their absence is affecting the Bengals running game as Rudi Johnson has struggled?.QB Carson Palmer has also been affected as he hasn?t had the time to throw the football? plus?two of the Bengals top four WR?s (Chris Henry and Kelly Washington) are OUT?this week the battered Bengals offense faces a Panthers Defense that is one of the best in the business?on the flip side?the Panthers offense is starting to kick into gear with the return of WR Steve Smith?the Bengals DB?s are opportunistic and gamble too much for this weeks matchup?I don?t think the Bengals will have a solution to the problem that Steve Smith will create this week?Carolina is 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 as a road dog of 0.5 and 3.0 and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 versus teams with a winning home record?Cincy is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games and 1-5 ATS versus teams with a winning record.
The wrong team is favored in this one!
Carolina 27 Cincinnati 20

Philly +0.5?The Eagles were in a tough spot last week coming off of an emotional home win over the Cowboys and they ran into a buzz saw in the Saints?this week the Eagles face a Bucs team that finally notched it?s first win of the season...but?a team that is overmatched this week?I expect the Eagles offense to have it?s way against a Bucs defense that is old and undersized?which will be a problem against an Eagles O-Line that is massive and averages over 315 pounds up front?the Bucs Defense will also be missing DT Booger McFarland who was traded to the Colts on Tuesday?from what I?ve heard ? the Bucs veterans didn?t like the move because they feel that management is giving up on this season?also?the Bucs offense has done pretty well with rookie Bruce Gradkowski at the helm?however?Gradkowski hasn?t faced a Defense like the one that Eagles DC Jimmy Johnson will throw at him come Sunday?Philly is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 following a SU loss and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 as a road favorite of between 3.5 and 10?Tampa is 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 following a SU win? This is also a double revenge game for the Eagles and Coach Reid because the Bucs have won 2 straight in the series including their 27-10 win over the Eagles in Philly in the NFC Championship game back in 01/19/03?The Eagles get back on track this week.
Philadelphia 24 Tampa Bay 16

I brought the BIG Gun out for this one!

Medium size play:

2 game 6 point teaser
San Diego Chargers +1
&
New England Patriots +1

SD +1?The Chargers are arguably one of the best teams in the league at this time and this week they face a Chiefs team that is on the down side?the Chiefs got pasted in Pittsburgh last week because they have injury problems and are just an average team at best at this point?the Chiefs are missing Qb Trent Green and three starting O-Linemen from last season including Willie Roaf which is one of the reasons Larry Johnson averaged a mere 1.9 yds per carry last week?other than Johnson the Chiefs lack playmakers on the offensive side of the ball because TE Tony Gonzalez is ancient and their WR?s are poor and the team misses OC Al Saunders who departed for Washington?the Chiefs defense performed OK before last week? but.. a closer look shows that the Chiefs ?D? faced the likes of Cincy, Denver, the Niners and Arizona before the Steelers?all teams that have struggled to put pts on the board this season?the only chance the Chiefs have in this one is if they are able to run the ball effectively?but the Chiefs face one of the Best run defenses in the Chargers this week?on the flip side?I expect the Chargers offense to move the ball both on the ground and in the air against the Chiefs ?D??the Chargers have won 3 of the last 4 in this series and are 10-2-3 ATS in their last 15 games versus the AFC West?the Chargers are also 7-1 ATS in their last 8 as a road favorite?the Chiefs are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 as a Dog?the only factor that will prevent this from being a blowout is the home field advantage the Chiefs will have.
San Diego 27 Kansas City 17

Pats +1?These two teams met in week #1 with the Patriots winning by a hair 19-17 at home?but the Bills played the Patriots tough in NE last season as well only to get blown out 35-7 in Buffalo?the Patriots have won 6 straight in this series and come into Buffalo well rested and fresh off their bye?the Bills on the other hand are a bit banged up especially on their O-line which won?t bode well against a Patriots ?D? this week?the Bills Defense has struggled against the run as of late and has allowed 287 rushing yards the last 2 weeks?Buffalo is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 as a Home dog and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 home games against a team with a winning record?the Patriots are 23-8-1 ATS in their last 32 AFC East games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 as a road favorite?the Road team is 4-1 ATS in the teams last 5 meetings.
New England 28 Buffalo 17
