You guys notice this about Florida State and Miami.........

Florida State has not had a decent QB since Weinke.............Miami has not had a decent QB since Ken Dorsey...........

How can you have a national recruting base and not get a decent QB in the last 5 or 6 years...........I dont care how much talent you can recruit if you continue to not put a guy who can actually play at this level you will be no better than average.........its been apparent to me the last 2 years that Drew Weatherford and Kyle Wright are terrible...............why keep wasting time trying to develop them...........

kyle wright is infinitely more talented than ken dorsey. but dorsey was a leader who did nothing but win. kyle wright makes some nfl-caliber throws ... but will never be the winner that dorsey was. brock berlin was the same as wright. every accolade possible coming out of high school.

same thing at florida state. you dont think chris rix was talented? he might have been one of the most physically gifted quartberacks in the nation while he was at fsu. but he was super high maintenance and had no grasp of being a leader or how handle the in-game pressure.

thats the problem, really. fsu and miami think they can just recruit talent and then mold them into good football players at the collegiate level.

Dorsey won because he could stand behind a line that gave him ten minutes to throw. Even some of these bad quarterbacks can do that. I would have never risked a draft pick on him. he usually took all ten minutes to throw the ball. Gannon had the same success for the Raiders. He won the MVP when in fact he should have given it to the offensive line that wouldn't let anyone near him for five minutes.

FSU and MIAMI lack coaching.

As for Kyle Wright, he fawked up. USC recruited him heavily and he chose Miami over USC. Then USC looked at Leak (who also was in same class), and Leak chose FL. Then Booty said he is leaving high school early and went to USC. Point is, USC wanted all 3 players and evaluated all 3.

Kyle Wright, Leak, and Booty were top 3 QB's in the country (even with Booty being 1 year younger)

Who is going to have the best college career? Who will be drafted highest in the NFL?

My money is on BOOTY all the way. I think most would agree. Even though all 3 are equally talented AND USC wanted each one of them badly.

Leak has done ok at FL. Good choice. Wrong system with Zook. Doesn't look NFL ready. He makes mistakes that senior shouldn't make. Wright fawked up going to Miami. Booty made the best choice even though he had to wait his turn. Behind Booty is Sanchez (#1 QB out of high school) who is also waiting his turn. Sanchez chose right in going to USC. Pays off to wait vs going somewhere to play right away. (leinart) If Leak chose USC, waited behind Leinart, he would prob. be a guaranteed 1st round NFL pick and playing for NC.

Clausen (#1 QB in country) chose ND (over USC and others) because of coaching = Weis. I think he made a great decision. Look what Weis did with Quinn. COACHING!

All in all, if Carson Palmer went to Miami or FSU, he would be drafted into the NFL (2nd-3rd round) but nowhere near #1 draft pick and prob. nowhere near as good of career. Leinart might not have been drafted at all if he went to FSU or Miami. Wright isn't the problem. Miami is! Weathorford prob. isn't the problem. FSU is.

As for Rix. Nobody in the Pac 10 wanted him. UCLA and USC passed on him. FSU offered early scholarship and he accepted. I think FSU couldn't back out. Rix wasn't good in high school.

Lastly, just to show what coaching can do for a QB. USC's back up QB Cassel (who I think had 20 career passes in mop up duty) got drafted in last round by Patriots and made the team and now is 2nd string QB behind Brady. USC developed him nicely @practices which prepared him for the NFL. Cassel said USC practices/system was just like the NFL practices. He adapted VERY WELL despite never playing college ball. That is how intense USC practices are.

Kids are not getting coached right at Miami or FSU. IT IS SAD! KIDS CAREERS ARE BEING RUINED! They do not play to their players strengths and don't make them better.

COACHING is the problem. Carson Palmer struggled with Hacket/staff. Palmer wins Heisman with Carroll/staff. Night and day. COACHING!

Miami definately isnt the best coached team out there... But I do agree that those teams target talent above anything... USC might have gotten lucky with the guys that ended up not going there...

Noles havent been same since Stoops bros handcuffed them in title game ... Canes and Noles were the elite teams in country not long ago, now they hardly bark in top 20... Bobby is one of true greats/characters in cfb history, just like paterno, but they shoud both hang it up ... as for the cap at Canes, looks like hes been exposed after inheriting all that talent
