NY GAINTS MONEY +155
Huge game tonight in Texas as the winner moves into first place in the division. And I like New York to take control in the first quarter and then steadily move along to be what will be a double digit outright win over Dallas. The G-Men are the better football team this year and in recent seasons in this longtime rivalry. New York is 3-1 SU and the 3-0-1 ATS the past two seasons against the Pokes. Last year at Texas Stadium, Dallas scored its only straight-up win in the last four meetins with a 16-13 OT win as a three-point favorite. Two years ago, New York cruised to a 26-10 win at Dallas. In the last four meetings, only once has Dallas scored more than 16 points. In those games, only once have the G-men been held to less than 17. Tonight's game is going to be more of the same as New York is the solid play this evening.
Facing a good team on the road is nothing new for this battle-tested New York team that has already won at Philadephia and Atlanta. In additon, New York has played Indianapolis, Seattle and Washington. Dallas is not as good as their record indicates as they beat up on softies Houston and Tennessee, while also winning at home (like New York) over Washington. But Philly beat up on them in the second half as did Jacksonville as the Pokes faltered in both those games. It's going to happen again tonight.
Dallas will have some success tonight in slowing down Tiki Barber, but ultimately he's going break off his share of big plays. And Eli Manning is set to have a big night. He's battled this year and has shown growth as a pro quarterback. He's had some tough days (if you compare him to his brother that is), but this guy is a winner. Overall this year, Manning is completing 65 percent of his passes for 265 yards per game. He's tossed 11 touchdowns against seven picks. Last year Dallas gave Manning some fits, but he's got several trusted weapons this year as Plaxico Burress, Amani Toomer and Jeremy Shockey have all been playing at high levels the last several games. Dallas has a medicore pass rush (just 12 sacks in five games) and had zero sacks last weak against Houston's weak offensive line. Philly's Donovan McNabb carved up the Dallas defense a couple of weeks back and Manning will, too, tonight.
Dallas can run the football well and the G-Men will defensivvely key on Julius Jones. New York will stuff him early in the game and make a statement that it will be quarterback Drew Bledsoe who is going to have to win tonight's game. He won't. In the team's two losses, the statue that he is, Bledsoe has tossed six picks under pressure. New York, which had seven sacks last week at Atlanta, will be able to pressure the Dallas QB and force mistakes. Osi Umenyiora is going to be living in the Dallas offensive backfield this evening.
This game will be close after one quarter before New York begins to distance itself and takes a halftime lead. The second half will see Dallas make crucial mistakes and the G-Men, who have outscored their opponents 57-0 in the fourth quarter, will put the final nail in midway through the final quarter as they win this one by double digits.
