With Canabiz out, hope he doesn't mind me picking this up.... We are down to 102 (lost almost 300 this weekend)... I have 2 picks remaining

Chicago, obviously is the best choice. Don't see a let down here after a bye week and at home.

SD scares me, I think STL can stick with them.

KC looks good with Seattle not having Alexander or Hasselback, plus KC is very tough at home. Just hope they don't have a letdown.

Giants may also be in a good spot to pick. need to look at their schedule to see if there are other spots I can use them

Philly, Car seem like good picks also

Please add your thoughts. I know it is getting down to the nitty gritty and many solid teams may not be available

Thanks for picking the post up where it left off. I was gonna do the same thing.

I would have to agree Chicago is the play here. Most likely who I am on. I figure this week or next week is prime spots to use them due to the fact that they really do not have it all that easy until Christmas when they square off against Detroit. To boot, they have a tough road stretch after Miami (Three game road trip to be exact).

Giants and San Diego look tasty, but I just don't trust Manning 100% against that Tampa Bay defense and St. Louis has been playing some very good ball. Giants are back home against Tennessee in two weeks, may be a more beneficial spot to use them there and San Diego has Cleveland at home next week, may be a more beneficial spot for them as well.

When it comes down to it, if you have the Bears, you gotta use them this week. Especially if you made it this far along in your pool. I could argue it with myself if they had a couple more cupcakes in the next two weeks, but they don't.

My strategies have worked thus far by holding out on certain teams according to future schedule and I have a few teams in my pocket i(ncluding Chicago and Indy) who most of all other participants in my league don't have left. There is only one other participant in my one pool who has Chicago and I'm sure we'll both be using them this week. I feel I have the slight edge on him though due to the fact that I still have Indy and no one else does.

I'm a homer, but a strong point can be made for the Steelers this week also. Batch leads them well, and the run game should prevail. I expect the defense to step up to the occasion once again with Big Ben out and especially after being reemed for the poor performance they put on last week against the Falcons.

It truly is a prime spot to use the Steelers here as they have all division games left on deck with only Tampa Bay and New Orleans sprinkled in there. Emphasis will be huge for them on this game and it once again truly is a "must win" for them.

Thinking twice now, I may consider the Steelers. Gotta check how many people in my pools still have them first to give them any consideration first.

Ok, definately gonna go with Chicago Bears this week. Not gonna rely on the Steelers, even though I favor them heavily to anyone out there who may not have chicago left.

As for the upcoming two weeks I am looking at:

Week 9:
New York Giants over Houston
Minnesota Vikings over Sanfrancisco 49ers
Jacksonville Jags over Tenn

Week 10:

Considering I'm still around, I will debate reaching into my pocket here and use Indy over Buffalo.

others include: Minny over GB &
Jacksonville over Houston (Might also be a prime spot for Jax considering the revenge factor) -->May have to keep Indy in my pocket.

Another good option is:

Week 8:
Pittsburgh over Oakland

Week 9:
Chicago over Miami

Week 10:
Jacksonville over Houston

Week 11:
??? Possibly Philly over Tennessee or Possibly Indy over Dallas

Week 12:
Looks like a few good options out there

Week 13:
Indy over Tennessee

Pending no major injuries and of course have to weigh out game situations when each week arrives, but looks like a solid plan also. Makes week #11 pretty tricky and could possibly pull out Indy there also over Dallas. Dallas may be in shambles by then and could be a solid play as well.

Jumping way outta the game looking ahead like this, but like to have somewhat of a plan. Especially since the only team I'm actually truly "saving" is Indy. You can never plan far ahead though cause the most important factor is how your pool pans out the next few weeks. Could be down to only a handful of guys. Then the strategies really kick in depending on who has who.

Good luck boys

I'm still reeling from the Seahawks loss but there's no point crying over splilt milk.

I'll be cheering for you guys from the sidelines. I am still alive with a couple of free pools but the feeling just ain't the same.

Bears and Steelers are all solid picks this weekend.

GL again fellas and hope to hear the good news, sooner or later!

my pool is down to 3 guys and i'm going with the bears this week. debated between bears & steelers but don't trust the steelers. plan on taking the chargers next week at home vs browns. all 3 guys are taking the bears so that game is meaningless. don't see the bears off a pitiful performance on mnf and off a bye not playing well at home vs a bad sf team

well, it sounds like we all 'thankfully' stayed away from the steelers. I went with NYG and CHI...

Started with 800, lost 27 today... down to 80... still 2 left for me.

On to week 9!

Good Job. :thumb:

Went with the Bears myself. Down to just two of us in my one pool and I think 7 in my big one. Both had a large number of people on the Steelers due to the fact that no one had the Bears left! Looks like a few good selections this week. Now that I'm this close gotta take some extra long looks:SIB
