All kidding aside -

There is some talking about fading some cappers in the ncaa foots forums and I was wondering if any of you guys have ever actually flat out said hes on that game well then I must be on the other side?

I mean you got to be pretty bad of a capper for someone just to flat out fade you. I can think of 1 time that I faded a member here flat out (in ncaa bball) Im not naming names but I did win:mj07:

Anyways Im not looking to out anybody, and am not lookin for any names but wondering if you guys have people you look to consistently to make sure they are on the other side of the game. Im just wondering if any of you have ever done it?

i would think a postive handicapping theme would be better than a negative handicapping theme on madjacksports and this thread will lead to more negative name calling at a time when everyone should be working together gathering information for handicapping instead of just throwing out picks and trying to prove who's dick is bigger than others, which this thread will lead too....don't you think?

not going to come out and say who it is or used to be, but yes, fading somebody who sucks is something I've done for years.

fading is the answer..oh sweet Jesus !!!

fading is the answer..oh sweet Jesus !!!

U betcha...and for most people that dont want to take the time to learn to do this themselves..fading is a dream come true.

Whether here or any where else picks are offered u will be hard pressed to find any one that wins at this.

The dead giveaway is that some one will not keep a running total of their record.

I'Ive been accused off showing off or wanting attention or showboating . Horse crap sure an atta boy every so often is nice but bottom line is i show people how i win..whether its teasers parlays fading whatever. Ya wanna make $$$ take a look at my threads......ya wanna lose money as a recreational pastime ...be my guest...pick and chose ur way to long term losses.

There are people here that know their stuff...most of them post a record..some dont that chose to be humble...their choice..if i'm going to go to the effort of posting here it's nice that some one benefits..else why bother..........

So get a record of who does their homework and who doesnt fade or follow them or take the one or 2 plays i post and spend ur money wisely..........

For the most part, those who have an inkling as to what's going on do not post in a public forum.

The more serious minded handicappers are discreetly hidden away (invitation only) in a secret internet handicapping forum ("I'm in with the in-crowd. I go where the in-crowd goes...").

The moderators of these "secret societies" use discretion in who they invite. They have to be careful not to deplete the public forum of ALL serious minded handicappers or the vacancies will be too obvious.

This is to seperate them from yearly influx of youngsters who bombard the forums annually.

Others who know what's happening simply don't bother with forums.

You can only read "looks solid, dude" so many times before you realize you're wasting yours.

On the course!
Today's winner is tomorrow's loser, pure and simple.

The guy who's pounding his chest one minute, will be asking, "Who do you like?" the next.......It's always the same old story.

Guys go on rolls. Some are extended. They get a nice following, and good for them. Once they go on their slide, they get thrown under the bus, and some ass clown shouts, "Ive been making money fading his picks for weeks!"

I think if you want to make money "fading" someone, do what you gotta do, but keep your pie hole shut about it.

Unless a poster is a complete douchebag, they don't deserve the disrespect of another guy saying, "Fade this guys plays........"

Make your money in the dark.

anyone betting against me the last 3 weeks in pro football would have made money. i just bet small amounts, but i've gotten killed. first of all betting on my fav team ( i know its stupid), then on teams i thought would kick ass, like jags over texans, or san diego over kc.
theres one person in pro football every time i follow his picks i lose. he has tons of people who blow smoke up his ass about how great he is, but i always lose. thats what i deserve. read all you can and pick for yourself. i'm not going to mention his name so dont ask.
there is a lot of great info on this site, stay disciplined. every time i dont, i lose.

I spend way too much time 'capping games to fade someone soley on the basis of an Internet post.

I always read the posts from long time posters that I accept as credible. To me, that means I expect they have spent some time looking objectively at the games and have at least a semi-knowledgable opinion. Some posters, who I acknowledge have a better grasp of games in their area, also get my attention.

As buddy mentioned in his post, there are invariably some younger players each year that try to spout off using some slang that reflects their immaturity:SIB . In general, they are "homers" and know very little about 'capping, but they wouldn't get my play....for or against.

That being said, I would never fade a poster regardless of the message, simply because he has shown to be a consistent loser. :nono:

The problem with fading anyone is that sooner or later they quit or start following another that is having success. Then you are left again to survive with your own abilities:com:

you can get much steadier info by using a few consensus sites

People in each individual forum tend to glom (is that a word) on to the same side of a game. Different forums will have different sides.

On the lake. Setting hooks!
My opinion. Fade ANYBODY that has a pay service. It's plain and simple. The reason they have a pay service is because they can't make it on their own plays. Other wise... Why would they want the head ache of running a service.??? It's as plain and simple as that.
