Again with the IFs

Again with the IFs

Scooter,

"IF" didnt happen

OSU WAS the better team according to the scoreboard.

Any other discussion is pure unfounded speculation!

You sound more ignorant tonight than I have heard you in a while!

PITIFUL!

uh, i watched every snap of the game against washington when he went 14/19 for 308 yards. he was better then than today.

Then you also watched Oregon St. give up the ball 3 times! If Moore threw 1 INT today, OSU loses. Moore had his best game of year today. 21-32, 1 TD, NO TURNOVERS, and how about that 1st drive USC had him sacked on 3rd down and he pitched it away and OSU got 1st down and eventually scored TD. Huge Play. Moore was awesome!

Dynasty is............

winning 51 of 53 games?

2 AP National Championships, 1 BCS NC????

4 straight BCS bowls, 3-1 record in BCS bowl games! 3 wins were blowouts!!!!!!

NCAA RECORD FOR WINS STREAK AGAINST TOP 10 RANKED OPPONENTS!

3 Heisman Trophy Winners?

Nations longest home win streak?

Fell 12 games short of NCAA all time win streak record!

NCAA record scoring min. 20pts in 56+ straight games, still counting.....

Average win in double digits?

Average loss by less than 4pts?

Should I keep going? :mj07:

Maybe I should wait because Pete Carroll isn't finished yet. :142smilie

Then why are you in a thread about USC/Oregon St. game? I am dissecting the game. There is a reason a team wins. Could be multiple reasons.

The reason OSU won is quite obvious. 4 turnovers and special teams TD @home.

I am not a believer the better team always wins. If Ohio St. turns the ball over 10 times against Northwestern and loses, does that mean Northwestern is the better team?

If you can't come up with a solid argument to back up your opinion, don't bother interacting with me. You are wasting your time because you just give me the opportunity to feed my ego!

So Cal
I bet all of the USC haters have been waiting for this day.. I even bet they lost some sleep thinking of what they'll post to Scott4USC when it goes down.

All the teasing is really not called for.

BLGSTOCKS

IMO the talent & coaching are best in the nation.

Cal , N.D , Ore don't really scare me .

So. Cal
Watching the "greatest team ever" lose to Texas last year was a day I had been waiting for a long time

I am glad SC lost but I havent been waiting for it - I knew they would lose, I KNOW they will lose twice, I am just glad that Ore St got one of those for me

Question for Scott???

What was wrong with this post? It is completely accurate. Why do you feel the need to be arguementive and try to form a weak rebuttal?

kneifl

Read the writing in the picture and you have your answer. I posted why USC is a dynasty (obvious) and what separates USC from those other 2 teams. No other teams have a case. Like it or not, USC is a dynasty and USC is just getting started. PC is not going anywhere.

In terms of National Championships......

USC has 2 AP NC's and 1 BCS NC.

LSU has 1 AP NC, and 1 BCS NC.

Texas has 1 AP NC and 1 BCS NC.

USC separates themselves from everyone else in most (if not all) categories! However, USC has won just as many BCS NC's as LSU and Texas.

How bout this for a solid argument why OSU beat USC:

lost time of Possesion
Lost 3rd down efficiency
lost turnover margin
lost passing efficiency
lost rushing total
cant hang on to the ball cause they arent coached well enough

and the intangibles:
got outplayed
OSU wanted it more
OSU took advantage of USC mistakes
OSU scored more points
USC isnt THAT good

Does that qualify for an argument

Go put on your USC pajamas, suck on your thumb, and hibernate until next Septmeber when USC is supposed to be stacked again!

I dont care if USC lost to Oreg State on the moon and I could care about the excuse of turnovers. FACTOID, they lost to a below average team that was minus their best offensive player in bernard. You can make all of the excuses that you want but losing to OREG ST no matter where the game is played and the turnover excuse is lame. Your talking about losing to a team that was run out of their own crib by Cal and was abslutely manhandled by Boise even after Boise spotted them 14 points.

Boise St is the best team in the country so what is your point?

Jibberish - It's who's number one that counts. You still haven't answered my question. It's really an easy question, I bet I could ask anyone on this forum and they would come up with the right answer.

lost time of Possesion

Not sure that is the reason USC lost.

Lost 3rd down efficiency

Valid reason. Not sure if it was the reason USC lost? Although USC was 3/10 which isn't good.

lost turnover margin

BINGO! -4 turnover ratio is pretty ugly.

lost passing efficiency

USC was 24-39 passing. That is solid!

lost rushing total

by 3 yards. Imagine USC's rushing total if the offense kept onto the ball!

cant hang on to the ball cause they arent coached well enough

and the intangibles:
got outplayed

Not sure USC was outplayed. They lost by 2pts despite 4 turnovers and punt return TD.

OSU wanted it more

Not sure about that either. USC was down 33-10 near end of the 3q and USC battled back. Turnovers is what caused the huge deficit. USC clearly wanted to win the game and battled until the end. If USC won, would that have mean USC wanted it more? no.

OSU took advantage of USC mistakes

You can say that again!

OSU scored more points

Yep, that is how we determine who won and who lost.
USC isnt THAT good

If having a 6-1 record playing one of the toughest strength of schedules in the country means you are not that good, then you are right!

Does that qualify for an argumentw

Games like this are decided by turnovers. Skews everything. That is why teams generally do not win if they turn the ball over 4 times on the road.

Ummm After this year tOSU will have two consensus N.C.'s in the last 4 years to pass all of ya. moon1

And to answer you Blg, Mack Brown's sorry coaching didn't beat tOSU, Vince Young did, so that's where i gave the credit. (I know it all counts, just screwing with the texas fans) :poke

I WILL say that USC has been the best team by far the past 3 1/2 years, with some great players, and obviously good coaching, ( i won't say great), and come close to 3 N.C.'s, but they played like crap today and deserved to lose. period. It happens. No kidding 4 to's hurt, but not as much as 2 points did, which is what they LOST by. (whether they gave it away or not)
