Pinnacle opening night lines are out, and I like this one.

This season I am going through 1x to 10x betting units.

Suns -5 (3x)

Lakers are in trouble here. Many injuries. Shaky preseason. Kobe is questionable for the game. I like suns even with Kobe in there.

sportsbook has the suns -4.. im takin that line.. with kobe being hurt, i see the suns covering.. even if kobe plays, which i think he will, he won't be near 100 percent. suns should cover.

It is the amount they are putting on the game. I think most people equate a unit to $100 but I'm not sure. It all depends on what you can afford to lose. The way I look at it is that the higher the units, the more confident they are in the bet

can someone please explain this to me.

A unit is actually 1% of your bank roll for betting. Some members have units meaning a hundred though, others have it meaning 10 dollars. But if you say Im going big on this play for 2 units then somebody of a smaller or much larger bankroll can adjust accordingly to their bankroll. Some member bet 10 dollars a game while others bet thousands, that is why people use the term unit.
