2006 NFL regular season breakdown:

BIG Plays 3-2

Medium size plays: 3-7

small size plays: 6-7-2

(Teasers 7-7, Sides 6-8-2)

Two Plays for this week

Medium size play on:

2 game 6 point Teaser
Atlanta Falcons +1
&
Seattle Seahawks -1

Atl-1?The Lions are coming off their bye week but will be facing a hot Falcons team?these teams met last season on Thanksgiving and the Falcons dominated that affair in Detroit 27-7...I expect the same result this week because the Falcons should be able to run on this Lions team that has trouble stopping the run especially since their top run stuffer DT Shaun Rogers is sidelined because of a suspension?however?Michael Vick has also proved this season that he can throw the football and the Lions are also vulnerable there as well?I?m not a big fan of the Falcons pass defense?but?Lions WR Roy Williams will be locked up by Falcons CB DeAngelo Hall leaving journeyman WR Mike Furrey and Mike Williams to do the damage?that duo won?t scare too many teams?Atlanta is 7-2 ATS on the road vs non division foes and 5-0- ATS L5 against teams with a losing record?Detroit is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs the NFC and 1-6 ATS versus teams with a winning record.
Atlanta 27 Detroit 20

Seattle -1?I just love the fact that this line has dropped 2 pts in favor of the public favorite Raiders who are on a 2 game winning streak?the Raiders were OUTPLAYED and out gained 380-96 last week at home versus the Steelers but their Defense found a way to win or should I say Big Ben threw 4 picks?anyway?the Seahawks got beat in KC ( a tough place to play) last week but are looking to rebound in front of a national TV audience and prove despite missing Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck that they are still in the thick of the NFC Playoff race?this Seahawks Defense has performed well in the spotlight as they dominated the Eagles in Philly last season 42-0 and I expect them to put on a similar performance against a Raiders offense that is the worst in the league?these two teams met in Seattle in preseason on 08/31/06 and the Seahawks DOMINATED that game 30-7 out gaining the Silver and Black 360-104 in total yards?Seattle is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 at Home and 6-1 ATS L7 as a Home favorite?Oakland is just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 on the Road and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 MNF appearances?I believe the line has moved the wrong way in this one and wouldn?t be surprised if the Seahawks cover the number.
Seattle 24 Oakland 13

BIG PLAY on:

New England Patriots (Money line -154)Over Indianapolis
NE ?even? This is a revenge game for the Patriots because the Colts beat them in NE last season 40-21 to get the monkey off their back and finally beat the Pats in NE? however ?in that game the Colts faced a Patriots defense that was missing half of it?s starters including a patchwork secondary?the Patriots are coming off a blowout MNF win while the Colts are off of a tough road struggle over the Broncos?Bottom Line?last week I called it when I stated in my MNF write-up that I expected the Patriots to spread out the Vikings secondary by using multiple wide out formations and attack their weakness?it worked!...this week I expect the Patriots to run the football 75 % of the time and pound a lousy Colts run defense with Corey Dillon and Laurence Maroney keeping possession of the football and Peyton Manning on the bench?the weather will be cold on Sunday Night with temps in the 30?s another NE advantage? The Colts are lucky to be undefeated because they barely escaped being beaten at home by the Jaguars and Titans and the Broncos on the road last week?I think the Colts luck will run out this week as I fully expect the Patriots game plan to be successful as they hand the Colts their first loss of the season?NE is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win by 14 pts or more and 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 Home games vs a team with a winning record?Indy is 18-40-1 ATS in their last 59 games after allowing more than 150 yds rushing in their previous game and a HORRIBLE 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 meetings with the Patriots.
New England 27 Indianapolis 23
