Utah is deep and talented and the Jazz will beat this weakened Pistons team by double digits tonight at the Delta Center. As evidence by their season-opening loss to the visiting Bucks, the loss of big Ben Wallace in the paint has brought this Detroit club down a notch or two. Oh, they're still good, but the Pistons might now only be the fourth or fifth best team in the East. Flip Saunders is on the hot seat and the team is relying on too many yongsters (Jason Maxiell and Carlos Delfino) early on. It will be interesting to see hwowthis club responds to this West Coast trip they begin tonight.

Utah has opened the season with three imrpessive wins and covers, including double-digit home wins over the Rockets and Warriors. Plus, they went to Phoenix and won as Carlos Boozer has come out of the gates H-O-T. But plenty of others can score, too, on this team including Mehmet Okur, Deron Williams, Derek Fisher, Matt Harpring and C.J. Miles, all of whom are averaging double figures. Utah is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS the past two seasons against Detroit and the Jazz will roll to this solid win and cover tonight.

The undervalued Blazers are getting too many points tonight and they'll stay inside this number at the Staples Center. The Clippers will calim the scoreboard win, but they will not cover this too large a spread. LA has failed to cover in two of its last three at home against Portland, and they'll encounter a scrappy bunch that goes deep into the bench.

The Blazers (2-1 SU/ATS) with Zach Randolph(23 ppg, 9.3 rpg) and sensational rookie Brandon Roy (18.3 ppg, 5.0 apg, 4.3 rpg) have already won at Seattle and rallied from 13 down in the second half to beat visiting Minnesota Saturday. I like these Clippers, but Elton Brand (just eight points and six rebounds the other night at home against Denver) appears to be a bit fatigued after playing at the world championships this summer. The Clippers arwe the better team, but Vegas hasn't caught up to how these Blazers don't quit and Portland will stay inside this large number tonight.

Edit your Portland line, Raymond. I like both of these as well. Good luck tonight.
