Many people point to defense as the reason for the 76ers hot start, but as far as I can see there is not a whole lot of "D" being played. They have allowed each of their past two opponents to shoot over 50%, while coming from behind to win both games. Last season, the Sixers would fade away as soon as the fourth quarter came around. This year it has been one of their strengths, as they have scored 28 and 29 points in each of the last two fourth quarters.
Indiana has been playing an uptempo style through three games, hoisting up an average of 84.6 shots per game (compared to 82 per for Phoenix).
Part of the reason the 76ers have been doing so well has been the fact that they have been getting to the free throw line with a Dwayne Wade-like frequency. They have shot at least 25 FT's in every game and are averaging 31 per game. Should be an uptempo game with both teams over 100.
