Cashing out a few thousand to do one of the above, but cant make my mind up. Ive got a 70" DLP downstairs in my media room, but no surround sound system. In my bedroom, ive got a 36" tube tv thats 10 years old.

Would you rather have a flat screen in your bedroom to watch some sports/movies, or surround sound system in your media room? I spend about 70% downstairs watching, and 30% upstairs in the bedroom watching the last halves of games before bed. Let me know what you'd do, on the fence and cant decide. Budget is $2500 so wouldnt be a full sourround sound, but a good start to one. TV would be like a 50" plasma/LCD/DLP of some sort.

So. Cal
I would go with surround sound, 2500 is enough to get a very noticeable difference in sound quality. And that can make a huge difference, for me at least, in being immersed in the game/movie - or just watching it.

Congrats on withdraw, and more importantly your son!

Go with the surround sound bro! If you spend that much time downstairs watching tv, it'll more worthwhile. Just make your next purchase the tv for your room.
