Any thoughts as they seem to be able to score 50 - 70 every game and their defense is good...

Haw has accepted a bowl bid already--do they care--maybe for player stats--La Tech had played tough scheudle--be careful with this one?

i love hawaii here, jumping on it pretty big, the only thing that i dislike is the early acceptance of their bowl game, makes you think they are taking it easy the next couple games

This not mine it is cut and paste to be helpful
It is from a guy who lives in Hawaii

Why Hawaii will not cover:

- Does anyone realize who Hawaii plays next week??? San Jose State...big deal? Look who is coaching San Jose State. Legendary HAWAII Coach Dick Tomey (Hawaii use to be known for defense in the 80's, "Tropical Storm" as it was called). For those who don't know who Tomey is: Tomey led the resurgence of Hawaii Football in 80's with incredible defense. His biggest win is one of the biggest in Hawaii's history, a Jason Elam FG as time expired over Pre-Season #1 Iowa....Tomey went on to lead Teddy Bruschi and the Arizona Wildcats to #3 with their Desert Storm defense...

Tomey is making his homecoming next week with a resurgent San Jose State squad.....everyone in Hawaii is talking about this game....and we hardly hear a word about La Tech this week.....

- IMO, Hawaii has a better chance to blow out teams on the road than at home. Why? Because we carry our 60 best on the road, and at home we have 105 players that have been getting in the blowout games....guys who will probably never play again in their college career. I have been going to Hawaii games here where scrubs I have never heard of with double numbers have been playing.....

- In 8 years (June Jones Hawaii tenure) Hawaii has beaten ONLY ONE team by 40 points at HOME, this includes Div I-AA teams. The team Hawaii beat by 40? IDAHO THIS YEAR. Did you see why Hawaii beat Idaho by 50 points? Everyone who saw that game, and June Jones acknowledged it....Hawaii ran it up on Idaho this year because Idaho refused to stop chop blocking our linemen. Hawaii lost 3 Defensive Linemen for that game due to knee injuries suffered to Idaho chop blocking.....June Jones said on his show...."Idaho wouldnt stop playing like that...then we wouldn't stop scoring" So in 8 years, Hawaii has only beaten one team by 40, and that is because June Jones was pissed.....

- Losing our defensive linemen brings up another point......Hawaii lost another two linemen against Utah State...Hawaii has lost 5 defensive linemen already......More offensive linemen and a true freshman are expected to be brought to the defensive line against La Tech....This against a La Tech team that rushed for 327 Yards against Hawaii last year???

Why Hawaii will cover:

- Heisman Hype, NCAA Touchdown Record. Now that Colt Brennan is getting National recognition, June Jones has to keep up the pace. I have no doubt that Brennan will throw for a MINIMUM of 5 Td's.......Against La Tech's defense? Easy......

- Revenge. Hawaii got absolutely killed last year by La Tech 46-14.....Furthermore, offensively, this was Hawaii worst game of the year, being held to 269 yards. These Hawaii players have been exacting revenge on everyone who beat them in the past....I see no reason why it isn't returned here....

- Third Road Trip in Three Weeks. This is Louisiana Tech's third consecutive road game.....and by far the longest.....this team has got be fatigued, and feeling really good about themselves that they got at least road win.....can you say vacation time in Hawaii?

- Road Blow Outs. Before last week's win at lowly North Texas, La Tech has been getting blown out by 39 ppg on the road this year. Against Hawaii's high powered offense? 39 should be easily beaten.....

As a UofA Alum circa Tomey era. (Desert Swarm) I must admit the Tropical Storm is new to me?...Hawaii did cash me last week & has been en fuego. However, I think the desert fox will get this #. They don't want to run it up on ole Dick. 50-23 Take the Spartans
