All you knuckleheads who doubted me when i said this Louisville coach stunk witnessed it tonight. He had no answers for a simple blitz. He has a team like Rutgers all juiced up, over pursuing all night you think maybe one reverse to keep them honest? How about a screen play? A Draw? I saw one for nine yards but that was it. Totally outcoached and i bet Rutgers so forget that crap about me betting Louisville. How this idiot didn't run one reverse is mind boggling. Maybe he was afraid to score?

if you knew half as much about coaching as petrino does sponge you wouldnt be sitting here like an idiot claiming you know more than him. You would probably be coaching somewhere. But I am sure that will be in your list of previous jobs next week.

Oh by the way, great call on Rutgers.......... oh wait you never said you were betting rutgers. I geuss we will just have to take your word that this is not an angry ignorant rant cause you lost your money.

no screens ???

no screens ???

I have to agree with Sponge. With the D-line coming hard on every snap, the play caller has to do something to slow them down. No screen passes, no roll outs, no play action? Maybe a shovel pass ? I thought Louisville did a poor job of helping Brohm out of his panic.

Could be arrogance on Petrino's part. Complete refusal to alter his game plan, even when it is failing. Sounds a lot like Tommy Bowden in the last two Clemson losses.

Agreed, i would have thrown in a reverse at some point as well when they were able to run. You hit it on the head.

hindsight is 20/20 as always

It is not that I havent seen Petrino do screens, or play action. He did those things in the game since you guys forgot I geuss. And I am sure there was a good reason why he didnt do them more often, (even counters mght have been effective it seems). No one was complaining when he was pounding it on 4th down off the tackle. No one said he was stubborn when he did a fake punt in the first half. Everyone was calling him a genius after WV.
What shot do you think Louisville has of winning that game when they are tied. You think they have a good shot of doing what they have been doing all year and killing teams, or do you think with 4 min left they should totally change their gameplan around and attempt a bunch of trick plays that can lead in TO's and huge losses. ANYBODY will say do what you do best. And to comment about running a reverse, if you cant get the ball off on a 5 step rout how the hell you going to get a reverse off?

Thanks trizzle a child should be able to point this out. This was a total coaching meltdown and anyone who knows just a tiny winnie bit about football would be able to pick this up. 3 guys agree with me in this thread and two assholes who follow me all over this site with their negative shit disagree. But what can you do? They shouldn'e even be handicapping if they couldn't pick this up last night. I saw it the week before when this coach, coached a terrible first half against WV. Very overratted.

great post BLG, spoken like a coach and w/o bitterness ...

i had LOU and i think petrino is a damn good coach ... LOU had a 101 KOR and 18 pt lead and couldnt win, at some point the players have to buck up and stop a 21-0 run ... give heaps of credit to Scarlett KNnghts, this was the game of their life and they left it all on the field, outweighed, outheighted, etc blah blah, many "experts" on this site were laughing at them, saying it was complete mismatch at that point ...

so if thats the case I dont see how all the bile gets tossed in the head coach's lap ... at some point there are a lotta other coaches and players not doing something right too, as well as an opp. that believed in the Tooth Fairy

Not that I disrespect anybody besides you in this thread sponge, but since you wanna count who agrees with you as some sort of popularity contest making your arguement more valid, -the one guy agreeing with me - pt1gurd is a coach, and the guys agreeing with you are calling for reverses! This isnt NCAA 07 or Madden guys.

And you were calling Petrino an idiot against WV because he kept trying to pound the ball at halftime. You came on the board spouting what an idiot he was, then after the halftime adjustments and he won the game everyone told you to shut the fvck up and you came on and said "i geuss he is an okay coach after all" or something stupid like that. So how bout you take the same move, and shut the fvck up, and tell us all how Petrino meets YOUR standards of a good coach again.

Oh and here was my card last night, not the plays i posted but you know the OTHER ones
