2-Best No Doubt

2-Best No Doubt

those are the two best teams in the country.

Period.

I couldn't agree more CWood. I am Buckeye fan and must say I have newfound respect for this year's Michigan team. Everybody knows how good Mike Hart is, but the one that impressed me the most was Chad Henne. I would love a rematch but don't believe there will be one. I wasn't going to comment on this but I must. I am tire of this USC b*****it. Michigan or OSU would flat out blow the Trojans out!

So Cal
no rematch. I wanna see the Trojans play the Buckeyes.

What would the line be if they were to play in the BCS NC game?

I'm guessing OSU-4.5

^ I'd love to see OhioSt/USC or OhioSt/Fla. I think those are the best 2 matchups but both teams must earn their way there.

I love all the discussion and all the jockeying for position, etc. but its just gotten to be too damn stupid and wrong to invest so much time and so much of myself into a whole college football season. Theres not a sport I love more...
And to have it end so bad.

And it can easily be fixed one of several ways.

And like someone mentioned....Ohio St. doesn't play a game for 50 days. Its insane.

I heard somewhere that the BCS does not allow 2 teams from the same conference in the NC game. If that is true then there really is no pint in discussing this rematch biz. Anyone else heard that?

MICHIGAN was down double digits late in the 4th quarter DESPITE being +3 in turnovers.

OHIO ST. had 2 unforced turnovers. LET ME REPEAT! 2 UNFORCED TURNOVERS! Michigan D did NOTHING to force those 2 turnovers. GIFTS! Michigan still was down double digits late 4th.

Will OSU have 3 unforced turnovers in a rematch? Then will Michigan compete and win?

Is that what we want to see in the rematch?

What happens if OSU plays a clean game? GOD FORBID Michigan turns the ball over. :scared

Michigan the 2nd best team in the country? Not sure about that. Michigan does not have many quality wins this year. Who thinks they have an impressive resume? I DON'T!

Unless you are in favor of rewarding a LOSER, Michigan does not deserve a trip to the BCS NC.

Ohio St will play USC in the BCS NC game. Ohio State will put USC in their place, #2 as usual.
GMAN, let's strike up the Gentleman's bet. You want USC, I want Ohio State. My favorite two
bottles are Patron and Canadian Mist. Name your
two favorites and we are on. ( I have a feeling for
some reason your a Scotch drinker ), hell for all I
know you don't drink. :142smilie

Friendly wager G, you know damn well these two
teams are playing each other in the NC game.
Damn shame this season is coming to an end.

YOU ARE AWARE that teams OOC struggle with USC brand of football. Right?

Both offensively and defensively.

As you can see, USC D is maturing real real real fast. OSU has NOT seen a D like USC. USC D is not like MIchigan D. (that is a good thing)

You are confident OSU D can shut down USC O? USC O that OSU will have very little gamefilm on since USC has been injured and inexperienced all year.

Its like 2003 all over again. OU had no film to prepare for USC O with Leinart etc. YOU saw what happened. Might happen with OSU. USC O that year was average until BCS Bowl game where they matured and opponent had little gamefilm to plan on.

ive got russian blood in me kramer, therefore im a stolichnaya vodka man (especially stoli blueberi). backing usc would require me to back a team that drinks lattes and frappucinos in the pregame locker room but im prepared to do it.

i tend to agree with tulah that ohio state would be somewhere around 4.5 (probably 5.5 or 6 but no more). and whatever it is, we'll cut it in half.

Whoever plays OSU bet the over. There is no team in college this year that can stop that offense. Michigan has as much talent as anyone on their Defense and OSU ran/threw right through it. OSU is the closest thing to USC and Texas was LAST year....they will score 30+ in the national championship game on anyone. And don't forget, OSU loves playing in AZ. National Championship...OSU 38 Whoever 17 :SIB

Michigan D is SLOW! SLOW! SLOW!

Ohio St. exposed it.

Everyone touted Michigan D as great but look a the competition Michigan faced. (ball state, vandy, CMU etc.) Michigan has only beaten 3 BCS teams with a winning record. Yet people tout them?

USC is more talented on D and is much FASTER on D.

USC also has Pete Carroll, Michigan has CARR.

Yes, Pete Carroll did a great job coaching when it was 4th and 1 and he had the Heisman Trophy winner on the sidelines?!!! He got complacent at the worst time and made a huge coaching error last year in the biggest game of the year. He's a good coach, but let's not make him out to be more than he is. Carr lead a UM team to 11-1, with the only loss coming to #1. Not sure what else he could of done.

Carroll will have 6+ weeks to prepare for OSU, of course that didn't help him slow Texas down. I stand by my statement, OSU will score 30+ on whoever in the NC game. If USC holds Notre Dame to 20 or less, I might reconsider...we'll see.

Guess what Scott? Michigan has the #1 SOS in the country as of today.

Michigan has played 12 games, USC has played 10 games. There is your answer!

Texas D couldn't stop Lendale White all game. Props to Texas for stopping him on that last play. Carroll made the right choice. USC OL zone blocks and White was too anxious hitting the line on that last play and didn't wait for the blocks. Oh well. I much rather have White carrying the ball vs Bush in that situation.

Carr lead Michigan to 11-1 record, beating 3 BCS teams with a winning record.

Carroll "might" lead USC to a 11-1 record, beating 9 BCS teams with a winning record.

Michigan has no argument over USC. They have not accomplished anything close to what USC has. (assuming USC runs the table)

Carroll will have 6+ weeks to prepare for OSU, of course that didn't help him slow Texas down. I stand by my statement, OSU will score 30+ on whoever in the NC game. If USC holds Notre Dame to 20 or less, I might reconsider...we'll see.

There are only 4 players starting on THIS YEARS USC D that started in LAST YEARS BCS NC game against Texas. Comparing apples to oranges. :mj07:

This years USC D is young but VERY TALENTED and VERY FAST! As you can see, playing very very very well as of late.

Oh yeah, Texas had QB named VINCE YOUNG and a SUPERIOR OL! USC was overmatched on D yet USC still had double digit lead in the 4th quarter despite USC O turning it over TWICE AND refs blowing 2 calls that went into Texas favor. (refs publicly admitted they were wrong TWICE against USC) 1 blown ref call stopped USC scoring drive and the other blown ref call lead to a Texas TD. 2 BLOWN calls against USC. Yet USC only lost by 3pts! Those are the FACTS!

I'm a Big ten guy but I agree with Scott, if USC wins out they should play Ohio St. The Big Ten had a bunch of lame teams to fill the schedule out and if USC beats ND that will make 2 Top Ten teams (with Arkansas) and to me that gets em in. By the way, no matter what Michigan does this year.....Lloyd Carr is still a mediocre coach.

Come on Scott...give a some credit..MICH D is very good...even though they did not have a good showing...I do recall USC not looking that great against another OSU team...Did anyone ever consider just maybe Tressel's playing calling and OSU offense just might be that good rather than MICH's D is over-rated...chit they really only gave up 2 big runs all game and had trouble stopping only this year Heisman Trophy winner...

I really think if both USC and Florida win out its really a toss up between the two who should get to go...but personally I do think Florida would give OSU the better game...but I would love to get at USC due to the future regular season match up and all the history between the two teams...

How good is Michigan? Seriously. Fact #1, Michigan has only beaten 3 BCS teams with a winning record. Fact #2, Michigan played Vanderbilt, CMU and Ball St. all at home for OOC.

Only great offenses MIchigan faced were ND and Ohio St. Who else is solid on offense? Wisconsin and their cream puff schedule? Michigan St. maybe.

Vanderbilt
Central Michigan
at Notre Dame
Wisconsin
at Minnesota
Michigan State
at Penn State
Iowa
Northwestern
Ball State
at Indiana
at Ohio State

SO WHY AM I SUPPOSED TO BE IN AWE OF MICHIGAN DEFENSE?

Why am I supposed to be in awe of Michigan PERIOD?

Michigan has a very good defense. But nothing special. Nothing to be in awe about. Just stupid hype. USC last year had an average D and they held Texas to 41pts and Texas only had 1 turnover while USC O had 2 turnovers. Still, that "average" USC D had held Texas to 26pts with 6min. left in the 4th.

Texas O was at the very least as good as OSU's and prob. a lot better. 2nd, Young had his game of his life. Yet USC D was slammed all year and slammed after the game.

On Sat. we saw how SLOW Michigan defense is. 2nd, Michigan D gave up 42pts to Ohio St. with OSU "O" turning it over 3 times and Michigan offense NOT turning it over. Michigan D had everything going for them and they still gave up 42pts. :scared

Looks like Florida's big win over Western Carolina really impressed you. ;)

Actually the USC defense did do well @Oregon St. At least I wouldn't say they did bad. They gave up 26pts to the Oregon St. offense. USC offense turned the ball over 4 times. USC D only gave up 26pts despite being -4 turnovers. NOT BAD! Even more impressive is Oregon St. started in USC territory after every USC turnover. 4 times OSU O started in USC territory! :scared

Oregon St. offense is potent. Talented QB and system is solid. If they are clicking they are good. They were clicking that day! Repeatedly making plays. ZERO turnovers!

Scott I always love your post...great post and angle as always...

Only think the Gators because IMO they would win in a head to head match up against USC...

And the reason why I'm going to hype this MICH Defense is I think we'll see pretty good portion on this defense make it to the NFL...I just think their stacked with NFL talent on the defensive side...and English is a pretty good coach IMO...

I'm was just trying to make the point that teams do struggle from time to time...and that maybe MICH didn't play their best game...
