Now we need some pitching

you need fielding. an outfield of murton, jaque jones and soriano is a complete disaster. you may score runs, but you will be outscored by a bundle. especially in a windy wrigley field. you will lead the league in triples and inside the park home runs and be last in outfield assists. all three of their arms are awful and they all are pretty bad fielders.

gonna be some high scoring games there with the lack of pitching and poor fielding.

8 years is pure insanity. Cubbies will hit alot of homers but their OBP will still be weak. Not to mention as BDB said, poor outfield defense.

while i agree with you, outfield defense at wrigley is basically irrelevant as there are no gaps to cover.

As a W/Sox fan, rumour is cubbies are now to pursue J.D. Drew, for an outfield of Drew,Soriano,Jones. I hate the Cubs but in that park that an outfield that will hit .290, 80 hrs , 225 rbi. Thtas not bad. Defense might be suspect , but as previously noted, there are no gaps at wrigley

cubs, sox, whomever.......please take JD Drew. Enjoy him while you have him. He is a poor clubhouse guy and sits games out with hangnails. He's every bit the prick he was when he woudln't sign in philly. Good riddens.

you guys are missing the point with the cubs outfield. there might not be many gaps, but runners will score from first all day long on long singles and doubles and you will be able to tag up on any fly ball that clears infield dirt from third base. none of those guys have arms that work.

Soriano had 22 assists last year, not too shabby.

the cubs should forget kerry and move on. what ever they can get for him i would take it. they have enough money to put a real team out there if they want. kerry is just one example of the cubs being dreamers and not doing what it takes to win. enough already, if this guy goes some where and stayed healthy and wins, god bless him. time for the cubs to move on and become part of big boy bb.

While I'd like to see Wood get a shot at closing, I don't see him staying healthy but he's gotta be better than Dumpster. Look the the Cubs to go after one more OF and a couple mid-level starters (Marquis? Meche?)
