ESPN--

Free agent center fielder Juan Pierre has agreed to a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a source told ESPN.com on Monday. The deal is believed to be worth $44-45 million.

The deal will become complete when Pierre passes a physical exam, the source said.

Pierre, 29, is a .303 hitter over seven seasons with Colorado, Florida and the Chicago Cubs. He led the National League with 204 hits in 2006.

The San Francisco Giants were also interested in Pierre, and had offered him a four-year deal in the $32-34 million range, a source said.

I can see you cry yourself to sleep when Dr Smith tried to ruin things for the Robinsons :s4:

Worse yet....

You probably threw a party when JR got shot!:mj19:

I can't even imagine what you went through when Hulk Hogan became a bad guy:scared

It's a good thing for you Dayad that Agent is now stalking that Hippo chick these days. I hate to see what he'd do if he came across your comment to BDB a month ago:mj07:

A horrible signing. Horrible horrible horrible. Already have a leadoff hitter in Furcal so you waste 40 million on someone who only had a .332 OBP and got caught stealing 20 times and is entering his 30s and will starting losing his speed. Weak arm for center too. Gary Mathews a better player last two years. Nice job Ned. 5 freaking years. :nono:

I meant absolutely no disrespect to dodgerblue. I noticed he didn't like any of the free agent signings and made a comment. It was in no way meant to be personal and I'd like to think he didn't take it that way.
