I am looking into purchasing one for myself, most likely the 8gb version. Cheapest price i found is on amazon for $237.00 shipped. I know that there are many accessories out there, is there anything specifically I should look into? I plan on using while at the gym and library. I also plan on using it while in the car quite a bit.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

Costco $239.............you can return it at anytime for any reason.

example:

My daughter in laws cat chewed up the earphone cord one year after she had it, Costco gave her a new IPOD because they didn't sell the cord seperate...........no bullshit.

You would be nuts not to buy the IPOD ay Costco.

Lots of good and bads to an IPOD
There is only one way to get music to and from it....Itunes...not like you can just copy and paste songs like with my old mp3 player. You cant transer from like Ipod to Ipod. I think its BS the way it is set up... but once you get it set up its the shit. I have the 60 GB Ipod... I dont go anywhere w/o out it.. hell I sleep with it more than I sleep with my wife! lol

Anyways as for your essentials... you dont need to buy expensive Ipod brand shit
1. Buy a FM modulator from ebay for $25...then you can listen to in your car.
2. Buy a charger/USB to computer combo offbrand at Best Buy for like 30-40......then you can charge and sync to Itunes.....unless you want to buy a docking station so you can listen at home $100 to $200.

Absolutely love mine though at this time I am not using the video much. The Bose docking station is a must.

I would not get an IPOD - I would go for a nice HP Iriver - You can transfer music from your computer - no programs - just folder to folder. I have a 40 gig one and it has a TON of songs.

The Bose as expected from a Bose sounds great. I think I paid $199 for it and it was well worth it. Excellent sound.

Hate IPODS, but will admit the Bose docking station is a great idea. It easily powered music for a party I was at a few weeks ago, albeit a one bedroom apartment.

As far as speakers to dock with, in my opinion nothing will beat the ipod HiFi speaker. Yes, it's expensive (350), but it's absolutely worth it. The sound quality is better from the bose from reviews I've read.

I've got the 60GB IPOD. Use it primarily to work-out with, but do have "fight club' on it and some musice videos, pics of family, etc.

BOSE docking station is great. Just used it for T-day. I copied some Tony Bennet, yeah my wife wanted it, and played during dinner.

Music quality is great, and recharges IPOD while playing.

I bought mine at BOSE outlet mall for $249. They usually run around 299.99, but I don't know what they are running for on ebay.

Is there any way to get an AM/FM tuner with any attachment? I'm thinking of getting one for listening at work, but I still like to listen to the morning shows before they play all the repetitive music. Thanks.
