Started this thread because I just saw the line moved from WVU(-8.5) to (-9.5), this is interesting considering Slayton is hurt and cannot carry the ball in his dominant hand, the WVU defense has a walk on at CB and have been run on by every team in the big east. I know WVU is a good home team coming off a loss but Rutgers has a very fast defense that showed they can hold a talented Louisville team off the score board which WVU could not do. They showed they could score with the best of them yet the line would have them in the same catagory as Pitt vs Louisville?? Something does not make sense, I know that Teel is not the best QB but the coach has a stud freshman WR that is starting to break out and against the WVU secondary I can not see him having a difficult time throwing. Especially when on 3rd down WVU plays a VERY soft zone or man coverage?? Please let me knowthoughts in the same direction or going the other way.

Cheers

OVER in a big way for me.
Leaning towards a strong play on Rutgers and the points plus the ML.

Good Luck. Rutgers will be a determined team in this one.

I like the way Rutgers played against Syracuse. They could have slept through it and not played well like WVU did against SFlorida, even thougth SFla is a better team. I think Rutgers has their mentality back (chop chop) and will go in ready to play. I also like the fact that WV is probably disappointed with their season after all the preseason hype while Rutgers is looking to finish strong and cap a great season, a big surprise, even to them I bet. I'll take the points without a problem in this one. It is hard to back them after being bad for so many years but that is just another reason for me to back them hoping this may even add a point or two additional to the spread. Should be a good game. You can bank on a couple things in this game. There will be a Mountaineer football team that shows up to play this game. I expect the offensive line, which is senior dominated to perform well. You can also expect a heinous environment at Mountaineer Field. Mounty fans love the evening games and go out of their way to get ultra tanked as most college programs fans do for night games.

This fans in Motown love this team irregardless of last week. Homefield advantage will be in effect. I can't recall Rutgers schedule right now but I dont think they have played in an environment like what they will see Saturday night this entire season.

I had USF last week and was at the game to see that debacle. My lean now is wvu -9. No lean on the O/U.

my 2 cents on this game...

After analyzing their past performances and stats, I feel Wvu should be a dd fav. at home. They rush for 2.5 more yds per carry than RU,and have a higher passing completion %, better special team yardage which leads to field position, and have forced the opposing team to punt almost twice as much as thry do (27-52)........... Looks like they got ambushed last week by a fiesty So fla. team they took for granted, and they could'nt recover from the TO's. If you watched the UL game TO's and untimely penalties killed them and they still fought and stayed close on thye road til the end.Altough RU has been solid, if WVU jumps out of the box like they usually do at home RU will feel the pressure and be pressing to keep up. WVU should be looking at the tapes of the Cinn. game .
I would not be surprised to see the line creep down by gametime with all the Media attention RU and Schiano have been getting.
I would lay up to 10 with the Mountaineers.

GL...just an opinion!!!

Weeks ago, I thought this would be my GOY, guessed WVU at around +6. Line jumped from 8 to 10 at my site today. Thought S. FL loss might move the line down but opposite has happened. I still see this as WVU blowout because of playing in Morgantown and Rutgers not having faced anything like that this year. Slayton injury and all those points are a concern but my gut instinct from 3 weeks ago to load up on WVU this game has not changed. Syr was horrible this year so last week's Rutgers win doesn't mean much. S. FL has been tough at home, I think Rutgers barely escaped there with a W this year. The only thing that nags me is that the spread didn't move down coming off last week's performances and the public money appears to be pouring in on WVU. One would think Rutgers would be gettng more respect.
