Im a big fan of pokertracker...does anyone have any they reccomend? Im thinking of using sixth sense along with my pokertracker. If anyone is unfamiliar basically it uses your pokertracker database to rate tables to find fish. Anyone use it/reccomend it or others?

discuss.

Never used these things. They beneficial?

Yes, if you like making money. Basically I'll multi-table at some lower NL tables and set mine, ect, with my pokertracker open. Basically if someone raises me when I have something, ect... I can just type in their name in the program quickly and see exactly what kind of a player they are, ect. Its also amazing for analyzing your play and what you need to change if anything. You can keep track of everything possible... who you've won most from, lost money from, what hands they've played, how they play from positon, how you play from position, ect.

i'm same as you tpaine, just do some small no limit and limit, thinking of getting the tracker, worth it i guess you think? on another note, bdb or any other pretty good player, would you mind me dropping you a few lines with some hands I played/misplayed, as I havent been able to extract value from hitting sets and playing them too agressively, yet you cant slow roll and let people catch, a real fine line and i'd love to get some tips on what im doing wrong, if i post them here im sure someone will rip me with a dumb joke (see: agent)...since ive only played 2 years now still tons to learn on how to improve and some situations i just am never sure how to play after the flop, preflop i am fine

id highly reccomend PT... I wouldnt play without it now that I have it. Spotting the fish is one thing, but being able to see what your doing wrong is priceless. Post those hand histories. Alot of the times with sets it's a hit or miss thing. You can hit 5 sets and not get paid off on any of them if no one has anything. You have to play them aggressive though like you said, especially in our low limits where people just don't fold.

BDB Im going to go ahead and buy the ace hud, thanks for the reccomendation, do you ever datamine with pokertracker?

thanks tpaine, im gonna check it out.......actually, i either multi table really low limits to grind out a few bucks ($1-2 usually) or I play 1-2 NL one table with all my focus and concentration.......in the low limit naturally everything gets done agressively, I'm referring to the NL games.....ie I hadnt hit sets for a long time then started getting them all at once and got paid on none like you said, I hit a set of 8's but there were 3 hearts on the board so I came out firing they all folded ( 2 or 3 opponents I didnt want someone to get a free heart, but didnt get paid off, maybe check it once and hope a heart doesnt come out and someone stabs at the pot for you?) and also hit a set of 5's in the same instance.......basically I have a tough time playing big hands, as well as trying to extract money from top pair, big pockets, etc, just wondering peoples thoughts, any ideas? I'll post some hand histories when I have a chance.....gonna try pokertracker, as I really try to find no limit 1-2 tables with lowstacked, bad players, low-limit 1-2 limit I just play whatever as its a grind for beer money, how much is pokertracker, 50-60$ or so?

It's $55 I believe. As far as sets go. They will pay you off in the longrun. They are my biggest money maker by far. Nothing you can do about a few flush draws on board people aren't interested in... just keep playing them how you are and you'll get paid.

whats your feeling on limping with big hands either under the gun, or 2nd to act (ie aa,kk,aksuited) seems anytime i raise to my usual $8 in a 1-2 No limit game from early position they all fold and i make zero, but if i limp and nobody raises and 4 other people call my chances arent great and someone may sneak up on me w/2 pair i dont expect, tough calls, six in one half dozen the other i guess you have to mix it up in some way

I never limp unless I know theres a fish @ my table raising every hand and I can trap him. Its just not profitable at low limits and lets people catch stuff on you.

I play exclusively Omaha8 cash games, with the (very) rare tourney.

And no BDB, I have NEVER seen any of these programs, have no idea what they do, dont do or anything else.

Are these things designed mostly for Hold em?

I agree, in 1-2 LIMIT I will never limp with big hands in early position, I am talking about NO LIMIT ring games though, and even though 1-2 is small stakes, I figure if I just limp maybe someone raises it up $6-8 on the button with a weaker hand and I can come over them or the like, the pots even in 1-2 no limit get pretty big so it can be profitable but its kind of like 6 in one half dozen the other, it sometimes helps but others youll get 5 callers behind you and someone will flop 2 pair with 9-7 suited and burn your kings

I have found it much more profitable to limp/reraise or limp and flop big and win a large pot than I have raising and taking down the blinds or getting a single caller and playing a small pot.

However I only do that in live play where I can get a little better read of who Im playing, or I know their play really well. If you're goiing to do that, you have to be capable of playing pretty well post flop. If the flop is 789, you have to be ready to fold QQ.

Online however, so many people are in and out, and usually multi-tabling I just never EVER slowplay anything Im willing to go busted with like a big pair.
