Start after final exams since these guys are at school for an education  December 15th 2 games at night and 16th have 6 games at different bowl sites 1st game starts at 9 am eastern time , all on tv of course. The following weekend we have 4 games and the next weekend 2 games and then the SuperBowl of college, it took me 5 minutes to think how to do this. There are some smart college Presidents, now why can't they come up with a solution?

AP poll top 16 teams
For example:
1st weekend

Ohio St vs Rutgers
Florida vs Wake
Michigan vs Virginia Tech
LSU vs West Virginia
Louisville vs Arkansas
Wisconsin vs Notre Dame
Ou vs Auburn
USC vs Boise

There you go, screw the BCS lets go to a playoff.
Imagine how much money these games would generate for the schools and bookies, lol.

Just my thoughts, what does everyone think?

No chance in heck. Your system is a massive money loser for every school in America. Try again.

50+ bowls vs. 15 playoff games???? The person who makes that kind of voluntary downsizing decision would have to be committed to a mental institution.

Why not still have the other bowl games? :com:

Have the top 4 teams in the BCS play. 4 plays 1 and 2 plays 3 then the winners play. This way, Mich would get a chance and in '04, Aub would have had a chance.

So a plus one game? I was thinking in terms of allowing everyone access like mid majors, but your idea is probably the most likely which is definitely better than the way it is now.

Not a plus one. A plus one is the teams goto their bowl games and then after the bowl season, the BCS runs the numbers again and then 1 plays 2.

Remove the 12th game that the NCAA instituted this year(yet they cried the kids were playing too much)

11 game season, start the season 1 week early, play straight thru(teams did that this year)

champ game for every conference, held thanksgiving weekend...........

Bowls start normal date in Dec and wrap up the 31st.......

Jan 1st- start of the 8 team playoff (6 conf. champs + 2 at-large)

jan.8th- final 4

Jan 15th- champ game

thats 15 games for the 2 championship teams, some play 14 already, but playoff teams will have a month off to finish up exams and the semester and then 2 weeks to prepare.........just my idea

Anything is better than the BCS, but it is better than before the BCS, I'll go with your idea also, we can still have bowl games for the teams that do not make it in the playoffs.

Going to January 15th causes major logistical problems. It kills recruiting, combine prep, winter break, coaching hires, etc. I am for everything else in that plan (though I'd like to keep the 12th game because it allows all Pac-10 schools to play each other every season). The fact that you go until Jan. 15th is a deal-breaker, though.
